When you log in you should see, under the line "Welcome XXX" a line saying You have n invites remaining. Click the hyperlinked number. However, if you do not see it, it may come only after you have uploaded a certain amount.

All, I am out of invites, I think Flyer has some still. Also, Ringworm who is one of the Staff of Tennistorrents may be able to give some.

Storm, i sent you an invite, have you registered ? I see only 3 persons I invited have registered. Thanks.

If anyone is willing to send me a invite, (for tennistorrents) it would be appreciated, if and when I get some decent mileage on the site, I will be sure to return the favor.

    Thanks

yeah, I've heard a lot of Stich's simple serve motion. but never been able to see it. I simply cant study serve motion from those youtube matches :-(
The only old matches you find on these torrent site are Pete, Agassi ones, a couple of Rafter, Guga. Hopefully, with time people will upload more diverse content.

I was looking for some Rios matches and found a 6 min clip on his site, playing Chang. omg, Chang was really hitting !!! Unfortunately that site has only tiny clips.

I'll definitely be getting some Guga soon, such a pleasure to watch.

I'm digging Becker v. Edberg in Davis Cup right now. Brilliant.

Stich's motion was so smooth, as was the rest of his game.

I downloaded the Berdych Safin DC match and am watching it in bits.
Must try the one you mentioned. Its sooo long ago, i can't even remember what Becker and Edberg played like !

Storm, I could not find Becker vs Edberg on Tennistorrents. Did find BB vs Chang in an AO 96. Snatching that.
YIKES. the DL speed is less than 1 kb/s, will take a month ;-(

its nothing like napster, its a closed community reserved for people that love tennis only, only very few select users can upload, online you have to be cautious with everything but tennistorrents is very, very safe in comparison

Stich was one of my all-time favourite players, so I have many, many of his matches so I guess I need to get with the program and get these things loadable to DVD and computer so I can share. Seems a scarcity of his matches around except for clips only. I have bins and bins of VHS tapes though, mostly 1986-1993 matches Stich, Becker, Edberg, and Lendl, showing the boys in their short shorts.

Could I have an invite too ? I'm already a member of several private torrent trackers, I know how to keep a good ratio, there won't be any problem with me.

so, potentially less of a wild west aspect than napster due to the expected smaller group of tennis lovers versus music lovers and the need to get an invite. agree with you there.

but, correct me if I'm wrong: this is a virtual network, ever-changing in terms of the number of nodes that are online at any one time -- available for upload/download? Same concept as napster.

and is it out of the realm of possibility that "people who love tennis only" might also spread viruses, either knowingly or unknowingly.

Approximately how many people are authenticated tennis torrents users? Are there policies in place to ensure each user has virus scanning software in place on their local machines, up-to-date, and actively scanning?

I'm not knocking the idea of tennis torrents. I think it's a nice idea. I'm just pointing out that this sort of file sharing over the internet, when you have limited-to-no knowledge of the source PC or the destination PC -- other than the fact that the machine is owned by someone who "loves tennis" -- can be potentially risky.

Please enlighten me on the tennis torrents specs if my suppositions are incorrect.

    thanks

Since I am not an uploader I can't exactly answer, but some others on the site may know better. Or maybe I'll dig in and find out.

Everyone cannot upload content. Some people are uploaders. So perhaps there is some trust in such people just like we have moderators here.

At the same time, the file downloaded is checked - I don't know whether this is a checksum check or what. So if you or a virus tampers with your file on disk, I *THINK* it will not be uploaded since the checksum will change - but NOT sure.

These are not executable files, these are AVi/MP4 files or similar movie formats which are played in VLC or QT. Now I am not sure that you can put in a virus in that which will execute when played by VLC or QT.

Can you elaborate on that ?

Perhaps we can google for "torrents security" or "torrents virus" and see, I have a class - hafta run!!!

im not a computer wiz but there are very, very few users that can upload files, not everyone can put things on the tennis torrent site, i think that would help, and i did say you have to be cautious, i said it was safe in comparison to napster

What happened to the Bolletieri videos? I swear I got them from this site. I don't see them now. I just watched Sonic Serve and it actually helped a lot. I'm looking for Tenacious Net Play and Right Back Atcha Returns (yeah, silly names).

You might have got them from the t3nnis.tv site.
They and all other instructional videos were removed a few hours ago as they were retail material.
    I downloaded all 4.

Storm, could you tell me what you found helpful in the Sonic Serve.

I saw it last night, and then tried pushing my hips into the court while serving, but it didn't immed help. Some inputs would be gr8.

Well, actually the names on t3nnis were different from what you give, so perhaps it was tennistorrents. I guess they also deleted it since these are sold on amazon etc.

The other 3 were: Killer Forehand, Building points and tactics and Attack.

At what stage are you stuck. You did post recently iirc.

    1. So you've opened http://tennistorrents.com/ in your browser. Hopefully you are logged in.

    2. You click BROWSE and it shows up some torrents.
Now, you click Search on the side. And can search out torrents of say "Federer" or "Becker".

    3. So I clicked on Federer vs Isner and it opened a page.

    The top row says:
    Download Federer Isner USO 2007.torrent

I click on the hyperlink. It downloads a small 28 KB or so file on my disk.

    4. Now I need a bittorrent client such as Azureus on my machine. It should be on. (Freely downloadable).
I drag this small 28 KB file onto the Azureus window and it begins to download the full file onto my disk. (YOu can press Command-1) on Azureus to see "My torrents".

    5. Once the download has completed, the file will be seeded from your disk.

    6. Open the movie with VLC or QT and enjoy.

Fedace, can you tell me where you are stuck. Regards.

The most often displayed serve in the video is Joachim Johansson's. It's a great motion. I've copied it closely and tried it out today with great results. The keys that helped me were tossing the ball with my weight on the front foot, opening up the hip with a stretch, and swinging up rather than forward.
