I'm trying Babolat natural gut for the hell of it and was wondering how gut normally compares to other strings tension wise.

The k90 has a range of 50-60lbs. I'm normally a polyester user (Kirshbaum Pro Line II) and string it at 54lbs. What would the equivalent in gut be?

Basically, I'm trying to make sure I don't waste my rare gut stringing by screwing up the tension. Any help appreciated.

What do others think of this? Does tight=better when it comes to gut as loose=better when it comes to poly?

polys meant to be strung 10% lower than your normal tension so obviously u wouldnt want to go losser and gut is a pretty powerfull string to try it at 60 what u go to lose its the best string out there (for most)

Full gut is insanely powerful. I put it at 48 pounds in a prestige mid. I love the feeling, but it is a launchpad. I think you will prefer tight.

I used to play with mid-range tension with VS 17g with the k90. But I play kind-of old school tennis with alot of volleying. I don't take huge cuts at the ball with western grips and such.

Thanks for the advice all. I decided to go 4 lbs tighter than my poly setup (to 58 lbs). We'll see how it plays today.
