HEAD uses a black string on their youtek racquets (speed/radical) that are sold in stores...any idea what it is?

Either just a generic synthetic that's painted black, or I could see it being black RIP Control. They have a few strings that are able to come in a black colour I believe.... :)

The Speed line tend to come with Sonic Pro as the stock string.

They come strung in the US, at least at big chain sports stores...I was wondering about this too, and all of the pre-strung ones I have seen have had black string...
