Sorry, I come in @ 12.8 stock, just a little under your limit. I guess if I added a little tape I could join, but I like my sticks just as they are.

i'm surprised so few have come out yet. when i joined last year this forum wash awash with people who were adamant that if it didn't weigh as much as the arm you were swinging it with your racquet would let you down.

kimbah, i was looking over your pictures and i'm kinda unfamiliar with the whole measuring balance thing so is your racquet head heavy?

Under 13.5'' on the measuring ruler is headlight, over is head heavy. Each notch is 1 point greater head light (or head heavy depending on which way you're going). Mine is now just a little over 4 pts HL.

When you play with a guy who have a standard weight racquet and put a lot power and topspin than you with a 13oz racquet, you will probably leave the club.

I could probably join, although I do not really care if it is over or just under 13 oz.

I have a couple of unleaded sticks, namely two wilson reflexes, with two overgrips, protector tape and a vibe dampener. just over 13 oz.

Also a VE mid with leather grip and lead at 9, 3 and 12 o'clock totalizing 13 oz.

A leaded Redondo MP at a little less than 13 oz.

A leaded Donnay MP at 12.6 oz.

I don't make an obsession of the weight. It is the swingweight and the weight distribution that are more important IMO. The Wilsons have enough weight in the head, so I don't add anything. The VE and the Redondo need about 10 gr. more in the head. For the Donnay I have only added 8 gr. to the head, the rest to the handle.

You just have to feel what the racquet needs and if it needs anything to play well. Some sticks with a heavy static weight actually feel easier to swing than lighter sticks with a higher swingweight.

I think most non professionals will play well with a 12 oz. maybe slightly leaded up, at some crucial points, frame.

Too much weight especially in the head will only reduce your spin potential and swing speed if you don't train every day.

Whoa! What did you do, pour molten lead into the frame and let it harden?

LOL! I would if I could, I put on a leather grip and about an ounce and a half of lead tape. :) Actually, if I used molten lead, I could make it a lethal weapon for changeovers, maybe some sort of sharp point or club style thing or something. I can just picture this conversation going on "Here are the balls Bill, oops, are you OK? Well I guess you'll be wanting to default then. *fist pump*"

Kennex Black Ace 98 (two of them) stock at 14.1 oz, with overgrip I guess 14.3 oz.
One Prince Graphite 20th anniversary prototype with heat sleeve, weight below grip, weight on head, at just over 13 oz.
