Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, for the 3rd year, the prestigious Talk Tennis Shoe Awards are here once again. So, time to sit down and look back over the past 12 months and share your thoughts on what was good, and what was simply shocking.
Prizes for winners include the ambiguous, blank-faced golden GOAT award (to avoid any petty arguments, it comes with stickers of all your favourite players to stick on), and for the plucky runners up, some wimbledon glasswear, as given to Isner and Mahut to symbolise putting the effort in, but clearly not progressing any further...
Same layout as before, just give your winning vote, and maybe an honourable mention to any of the categories below, and feel free to add any additional categories you can think of. Reasoning for your votes would also be good!
So, without further ado, cue the melodramatic music, dim the lights and get involved; The categories are:

-Best Overall Company Designs of the year

    -Shoe of the Year

    -Apparel of the Year

    -Shoe Colourway of the year

    -Worst Apparel of the year

    -Worst Shoe of the year

    -Biggest surprise of the year

    -Biggest disappointment of the year

    -Most anticipated for '11

Nike- really like that they've created a clear divide between the Federer and Nadal lines, meaning they've covered alot more areas this year, than just the variety of polos from last year

    -Shoe of the Year
Unfortunately, I haven't actually bought any 2010 versions of shoes, instead getting more Vapor V, so can't really comment

    -Apparel of the Year
Rafa US Open Night. The design and comfort of the top are amazing. The subtle colour really adds to it aswell
Honourable mention: Federer Master Cup. Always loved Red stuff, and this whole outfit was awesome

    -Shoe Colourway of the year
Federer's custom Master Vapor Vi- subtle colours, but enough of a pop to make them stand out.
If it actually has to be available to us mortals, Rafa's US Open Night Ballistecs. I wouldn't wear them, but they worked brilliantly with the outfit and general feel of the event.

    -Worst Apparel of the year
Does anyone like the Djokovic ST line? Personally, think they look awful, and the quality really seems to be lacking

    -Worst Shoe of the year
Again, really can't comment, but not a fan of the look of the new Barricade
    -Biggest surprise of the year

    -Biggest disappointment of the year
Murray and Adidas. After some brilliant Fred Perry outfits towards the end of last year, nothing but blue. So.Much.Blue

    -Most anticipated for '11
Vapor 8's hopefully returning to form. Adidas stuff is looking interesting aswell

I only wear adidas, but I'll try not to be overly biased

-Best Overall Company Designs of the year
Nike - The Rafa line was awesome this year with its bold colors. Adidas started great but the designs were bored down from Wimby onwards

    -Shoe of the Year
Barricade 6 - It's amazing that they improved on an already exceptional shoe in the B5 (at least for those of us who fits in the shoe)

    -Apparel of the Year
Verdasco's French Open combo - mixing Blue, Ink and yellowish-green into an awesome awesome package. Also, the two tone edge shorts were nothing short of genius

    -Shoe Colourway of the year
Rafa's CB2.3 french open blue / green / whatever shoe - just a really great color combination and was a nice throwback to the late 80's/early 90's when people weren't afraid to wear color.

    -Worst Apparel of the year
Djokovic Dragon line - wtf man really?

    -Worst Shoe of the year
I would say this year's Vapors? Correct me if I'm wrong but Fed didn't really wear this shoe right?

    -Biggest surprise of the year
Fila's Heritage Line - Borg and Vilas... 'nuff said

    -Biggest disappointment of the year
Tie between Sergio Tacchini and Murray's barricade line. I would've thought ST would hold on to their classic stylings but went WAYYYY out of the box with flames, wings, and dragons.

Murray's was boring - it seemed like adidas had only a day to design his clothes

    -Most anticipated for '11
adizero line - the fresh colors of this line + the adizero shoe. Seems like adidas is ready to bounce back

One stroll at the USO Nike booth this year seals it for Nike. Rafa's USO night will go down as one of the GKOAT.

    -Shoe of the Year
CB 2.3. I'm still wearing 2 different pairs 1 year later. Durability and design. FTW. I wanted to like the B6 but Adidas are just far too narrow.

    -Apparel of the Year
Roger's FO kit. Roger's WTF kit

    -Shoe Colourway of the year
    CB 2.3 black/grey/green
    [IMG]

    -Worst Apparel of the year
Fila Blake crap. Sorry James. :(

    -Worst Shoe of the year
All Adidas. Horrible fit. Just look at the B6 threads. No consistency.

    -Biggest surprise of the year
    Fila Winter Heritage release.

    -Biggest disappointment of the year
    Jokers and Dragons

    -Most anticipated for '11
    Nike Fall line looks sick
    CB 3.3 Yellow/Black
    Vapor 8 Silver/black

Hated it at first but it grew on me, and now I love it
    Federer Orange Henley!

-Best Overall Company Designs of the year : Nike

-Shoe of the Year: CB 2.3. Disclaimer: I have only been playing with them for a month, as finally have burned through my 1.3 stack. However, they are definitely an improvement as I am loving the better ventilation.

    -Apparel of the Year:

    -Shoe Colourway of the year:

-Worst Apparel of the year: ST!

-Biggest disappointment of the year: Nike raising there prices in the UK by 60%+ on many featured lines over the past year, despite the economic conditions.

-Most anticipated for '11: Nike Fall 11 / Rafa green summer crew. I haven't bought Adidas for a while, but the Spring 11 adiZero stuff looks great.

    In a nutshell:

-Best Overall Company Designs of the year
    NIKE. Period. End of Story.

    -Shoe of the Year
TIE: Nike Air Court Ballistec 2.3 and Zoom Breathe 2K10 - both superb shoes on all fronts (comfort, stability, performance).

    -Apparel of the Year
NIKE - of course. The only company currently doing ANYTHING of interest with their apparel. What happened to the designers the last 2 years at Adidas, Fila, or Tacchinni?

    -Shoe Colourway of the year
Nadal's Optic Yellow (Glow in the Dark) Nike Air Court Ballistec 2.3s

    -Worst Apparel of the year
So many to choose from - with truly dreadful lines in 2010 from Adidas, Fila, and nearly everyone else it makes it hard to choose, but the winner would have to be the miserable stuff draped on The Joker by Sergio Tacchini. Make them stop!

    -Worst Shoe of the year
    What happened to Wilson?

    -Biggest surprise of the year
It has to be the sudden and surprising emergence of K-Swiss as a bonafide contender in both tennis shoes and apparel. They would certainly have to be considered the most improved line of 2010.

    -Biggest disappointment of the year
Adidas. What has happened to the design team there? The clothes are beyond boring. Their shoes - other than the Barracade - look horrible and don't play much better. I had come to expect so much more from a line that earned my respect for the last ten years - but the last 2 years have been dreadful. Is this the best you can do with Andy Murray? Argyle?! Really?!!
