    Hi All

Looks like the missus is forcing me to go with her and her labrador on a tour of Europe in a camper van this summer. So as revenge, I am going to park near as many tennis courts, tournaments etc as possible.

So I'm looking for potential hitting partners, tournament suggestions and general tennis opportunities between or at tournaments. I'm an over 40, about 5.0 US, 4.1 UK, +5/6 FR, ITN = 4 standard.

Rough itinerary with obvious straight routes in between:

6th Apr: Arrive Dieppe. Dieppe to Alassio, Italy via Paris.
12 -16 Apr: ITF Vets Alassio.
    21 - 27 Apr: ITF Vets Rome.
    30 - 4 May: ITF Vets Bari.

    Ferry to Dubrovnik.

8 - 11 May: ITF Vets Novi Sad, Serbia.
15 -18 May: ITF Vets Rogaska Slatina, Slovenia.
    19 - 1 Jun: ITF Rovinj, Croatia.
    4 - 8 Jun: ITF Klagenfurt, Austria.
    16 - 22 Jun: ITF Poertschach, Austria.
23 - 27 Jun: ITF Karlovy Vary, Czech.
    7 - 10, 11-14 Jul: ITF Arosa, Switzerland.
    21 Jul: ITF Bordeaux, France.

Assuming I haven't killed her by then.

Any suggestions from anyone? I'm particularly interested in any other tournaments that can fill in the gaps or suggestions for good training opportunities.

moz, it looks like your schedule is loaded...she may kill you first though:twisted:. That is a solid 3 month schedule, 12 tournaments.
    A lot of tennis.

Try taking a few deep breaths and smell the roses, see some sights.

Good luck with it because it sounds like fun.
Don't forget to give your body enough time to recover.
There are a lot of guys in the 40s & 50s who have been grinding that schedule the last 5-10 years. They generally take a week off in the middle somewhere.
I would skip Slovenia or Croatia(not the country just the tennis:) )

Wise words but I figure I'll be out early in enough of the tournaments to get my enforced rest!

Can't believe I found this post as I pretty much have the same plan for this coming spring although I'll be flying in an out of events as my gf and I will be based in her hometown for 4 months.

I'm going to be in Alassio and Rovinj for the same dates/tournaments, playing 35+ (I play 5.0 and occasionally Open in Canada). I'd happily hit prior to events or afterward, I would just need coordinate my flights to land a day or so early. As for events later after Rovinj I'm still in discussion with the missus as to how many weekends I can take off for.
