I would have to say the dream match of this generation would be Federer vs. Nadal in the final at Roland Garros and Fed wins in 5. Finally taking out the clay great where it matters most.

In second would be Nadal beating Fed in 5 sets at the USO, completing his career grand slam.

What is your idea of a dream match?

would have been better if fed never won RG and then do this.

If he had lost 2009 RG final to nadal, then win in 5 sets against rafa in the final, it would be more epic.

Also if delpo didn't win USO 2009 and nadal broke feds chance of 7th consecutive, that would also be epic

yeah but the bikinis are too much clothing
although I'm not sure how hot would it be seeing naked women contract all those muscles in some awkward stances,it could actually be a turn-off

Kuerten at his best against Nadal at his best. I suppose that's this generation even though Kuerten's retired.

I think we've had a lot of top matches with Nadal and Federer already at Wimbledon and the Australian. Hard to beat the 2008 Wimbledon final for drama and top play.

Maybe it's just me and I know Federer's beaten Nadal before on red clay but I can't get excited about a Nadal against Federer French Open final because it just seems so heavily in favor of Nadal. At Wimbledon, the Australian and the US Open I would feel differently because I would feel either one can win.

The dream match right now is nadal/federer at the US open. A night match would be great but at this point I will settle for a sunday match. :)

Nadal vs Federer at USO!!Because this is the only slam which they have never played! All of us just can guess what kind of match this one will be!!!And maybe no one is near to what might happen in NY between these two......if they play some day of course!
    I hope they will......

Federer D. Nadal at his last French Open with a ridiculous scoreline like 4-6,6-3,7-5,5-7,21-19

And Nadal D. Federer at the US Open the same year for the career slam

    2-6,4-6,7-5,7-5,7-6(20)

    Dream matches indeed...

Dream match is Verdasco VS Nadal at FO finals. Think Nadal can give a triple bagel?

Nadal def Federer in USO 2010 4-6 4-6 7-6 6-3 7-6, saving several match points. Federer breaks down in tears once again during trophy presentation ceremony.

As much as I want to see a 5 set final, I seriously doubt that Fed will have the either the mental or physical stamina to go toe to toe against Nadal for 5 sets on clay.

Nadal will just keep attacking Fed on his weaker wing, open the court n hit winners there. If Fed tries to run around for his forehand, Nadal will just defend long enough to work on Fed's backhand again.

    Somewhat boring but effective.

You're delusional, 2009 RG Del Potro would've probably beaten Nadal in Madrid.
Even Federer got close despite all those shanks and mini-chokes. RG is obviously different story, with best-of-5 and slower surface, but it would still be a very tight match.

Please no, that would mean that one of them wins a slam (even if it's after 7 hours and 100 doublefaults).

JMDP has the right game and is a good matchup to Nadal. I think he could have taken on Nadal in both 2009 & this year on clay...

Out of ones that are possible, though:

Federer v.s. Nadal - French Open Final
Federer v.s. Nadal - Wimbledon Final
Federer v.s. Del Potro - US Open Final
Federer v.s. Del Potro - French Open Final
Nadal v.s. Del Potro - French Open Final
Nadal v.s. Del Potro - US Open Final

    Then
Serena Williams v.s. Every ATP player in decreasing rank order to see what her equivalent rank is. (I'd only want to watch the one she wins, the rest probably wouldn't be that interesting)

Pretty sure Fed would come out the winner in a best of 9. After all, he makes Nadal run like crazy no matter the surface, had he wastes so little energy that by the time Nadal GETS to the fifth set, he'll be so much more exhausted than Federer that Federer would be bound to pull of a set, or 5. :)

    Love the dream matches.
Federer beating Nadal at the French Open.
Roddick or Murray winning Wimbledon playing either Fed or Nadal in the SF and Final. Going through both 2 win it.
Also Roddick and Murray in the Wimbledon final would be Historic either way as well.
Nadal winning the USO having 2 play Roddick, Murray and Federer 2 win it. Completing his career slam would be good 4 tennis.

The least likely of them all? Federer beating Nadal @ the french Open. :(

Although I want Federer to win every tournament, I guess finals like below would also be nice to see

    at WMB
    Roddick vs Murray
    7-5 4-6 4-6 7-5 20-18

    At USO
    Nalbandian vs Nadal
    7-5 4-6 4-6 7-5 20-18

    at RG
Unknown qualifier that beats Nadal in the final in 5 sets.

    at AO
    Hewitt vs Davydenko
    7-5 4-6 4-6 7-5 20-18

I want to see Gonzo beat Nadal again so bad (esp. after that epic choke at the USO last year)

  44. Well I'd say Wimbledon 08 final WAS a dream match. I mean how could you script that any better for Nadal? Even the rain delays added the perfect drama at the right moments. Pretty insane in retrospect.

I'd like to see Roddick win Wimbledon some day. I don't suppose I have any "dream matches" just "desired results" that would be cool to see.

True, but Nadal has won their last 3 HC meetings , just like he has with Blake (someone who used to beat him on HC before).

It's not impossible, just quite improbable. Especially since some of these 10-20 rank players don't seem to have the mental goods to beat Fedal.

Well, Gonzo's mental strength comes and goes, something that goes with being slightly crazy (witness the craziest top 32 player's mental fluctuations in Youzhny)
