    Steffi Graf. Was that supposed to be challenging? History shows that it is far easier to dominate the women's game.

    Too easy. On a tennis messageboard, you don't give so many clues to identify one of the best-loved tennis players on the planet :).

    And, of course, gender complicates things. Even within the women's field, it is not straightforward. Martina Navratilova is, without a shred of doubt, the greatest women's tennis player ever. However, Steffi Graf is -with some qualifications that might derail this thread - the greatest singles player in the women's game.

    No I dont think so. Navratilova, Court, Evert I give a slight edge on her. She is right up there with them on the female side of things though.
