How many hours of comfortable performance are people who use this set up getting on average?
LOTS of guys, besides me, use the LD Rig...
SolincoTourBite16 at 47 lbs for a 16x19 racket with a 98 headsize.
Lasts well over 80 hours of play, seems no one has broken it, and tension maintainance is superb.
Solinco emailed me directly and told me they recommended not to use it past one week, which is on average 10-12 hours of play.
80 hours of play with the same full poly bed is insanity. If you can't break full poly beds in 10-12 hours you would probably want to go with a multi or syn gut. Its cheaper as well.
Yes indeed, someone has a shoulder made out of steel.
That's one cool thing about old age.
I'm 65, play 3 days a week. I have one of my Aero300's with less than 3 hours of total play, while the other is well over 80, but maybe not 100 hours.
They play identical!
Same goes for both my 4.0 buds, about my size, 5'10" and 150 lbs., and all of us are considered really hard hitters.
A really hard hitter would not log 80 hours on a string job.
I play with some 50-60 year olds and they tend to keep polys in for a long time playing doubles. Some of them a whole year playing 2-3 times a week.
Yeah its just not going to happen. Add to that, if they ALL are really hard hitters, than the string would break even faster due to the pace of the incoming ball.
Im going to write that one off as a Leed fantasy as its just not possible to hit hard and have a string last 80 hours.
The conversation got away from my question. How many hours of comfortable performance are people getting out of this set up?
Play doubles, hit flat, don't have shanks -- even if you hit hard, it takes a very long time for poly to wear through and break.
Sometimes, you gotta try to think a little...
If I hit hard, the ball doesn't come back hard. GET IT? It barely floats back, at best.
If I hit soft, the ball comes back hard and to a corner. Since I can't run, it's a winner for the opponent!
See how that shortens points and also allows the strings to last?
Most of us hit way harder than our skill level, so the points last....nil, and the strings last forever.
YOU guys from Florida or whatever, and that doesn't include RobFL, must hit moderately hard, get moderately hard returns back, and do it over and over again.
Out west here, if someone hits hard, the ball doesn't usually even come back at all..:shock::shock:
Ill bet however much you can afford that i hit a lot harder than you. Dont be delusional. we are younger, stronger, faster and get more balls back. I find it laughable that all your rallys are 2-3 shots because of this huge pace you think you generate.
If your stringbed lasts 80 hours - DONT use full poly.
And really, out west? Are you that thick? You think there is no one who hits as hard in FL? Haha. you really are full of it man, or just clueless.
I hit alot harder if i get a hard ball at me,if someone just lob the ball over net i cant get so much pace out of it, and remain control.
I do agree however that it can be harder to control the hard ones if they place them well, and its easier to aim for a corner if i get more time, but it wont be as fast.
This is one of the lamest post ever by leeD. If your usually playing 12 year old girls I guess you can be goat on the kiddy courts but you might want to play adults sometimes.
LeeD is both full of it and clueless. As it has been proven on ttw endlessly.
