Although we are not sure whether the world will still exist, who the president of the United States will be or who will win the World Tour finals of 2012:

    I Can't Wait!:)

Seriously, this may seem early, but I genuinely can't wait for the happy slam. Anyone with me?

Lol talk about making a thread early.

Can't wait as well, my favorite major/tournament of them all even though the surface is a joke these days.

I will be looking for an answer for the following questions:

    - will Federer regain the no 1 spot once the AO is done?
    - will Murray become the first man ever to win his 2nd major straight after winning his first?
    - will Nadal come back? If so, how will he fare?
    - will Djokovic do a hat trick of AO's?
    - Janowicz - what's up with him?
    - Ferrer - is on a 10+ match winning streak or something, can he keep it up in 2013 OR will he surpass Nadal in the rankings?

It was my fav. tourney in the whole wide world up until 2007. After that, it was still good, but the last two years it's become increasingly worse and no longer my fav. tournament./

Too early of a thread. Though I gotta say Federer.

Would like to see Tsonga or Berdych win though.

Jerzy to get to the quarters, Rosol trolling one of the top seeds, Federer knocking off Nadal. Murray not winning it. That is what I want.

I'd say it's my least favorite major, but that's the FO due to being on clay, which is a pretty stupid surface to play tennis on.

But it's nearly unwatchable for U.S. fans since most of the action is overnight.

I suspect either Murray or Djoker wins this.

Nadal won't win his first slam back after injury... he traditionally performs badly right off of injury... he'll be in good shape come FO time.

Federer has an outside shot, especially if murray and djoker are in the same half.

i'd like to see a Fedal match here because I think it'd be a good chance for Roger.

However, this year Federer's QF streak is going to end... i'm not sure at which tournament.. i hope it's the FO.. but it could be here.

I have a feeling that Murray will win this.. Or else it will be Djokovic. Of course I'm hoping Federer but I don't have the feeling that he will win there.

I'm not sure how Nadal is "likely" to win a slam on hard after not practising at all for 4 months + . Let's stay in touch with reality here... (not that I would mind of course)

Not his biggest fan (much because of the Vamos Brigade), but absolutely cannot wait to have Nadal back.

The thought of Nadal, RF, Cvac and Murra all playing somewhere near their best is mouthwatering..really hoping for an epic Wimbledon Championship.

Nadal a bigger favorite that Federer....when he has not played for 6 months?

Murray will be back to his non slam winning ways.

AO is Djokovic's second home: slow high-bouncing courts for this Western grip.

Murray is using SW, relies on his serve more, needs a lower bounce for his slice to work. And, don't forget, he is still a one-slam wonder.

I agree the court suits Djokovic way better. It was still very close last year though.

Yes because the majority of the tour still haven't quite dealt with his moonballing except maybe Djokovic. Maybe Murray too but he chokes at the first sign of MP.

And AO is too slow for *******.

Now that he's broken the slam duck, its better if he wins coz that would mean his hero Ralph wont win outside clay. :)

He hasn't played in another slam since the USO yet so how could he be anything other than a one-slam winner? It is not like he is Andy Roddick. He'll win more slams. The differences between Murray and Djokovic are miniscule.

Gonna be a lot of late nights for the Aus-O, damn time difference. Will be my first while in full time employment as well, which is bound to be gruelling.

Can't wait though, they should be scribing Murra's name on the trophy already.

Novak & Murray stand 50-50 chance.
Sadly Fed has no chance of winning, though I wish he could. Agreed Fed won AO in just 2 years back in 2010, his performances at these slow courts in 2011 & 2012 were not so encouraging.
IMO Nadal is a wild card and his result is unpredictable. On one hand he is coming off a long injury break but on the other AO is the surface he clearly prefers than one at The Open.

    It depends on the draw.

If Nadal doesn't come back or starts slowly (and gets drawn in Federer's half), Federer has a great shot at reaching the final. Murray and Djokovic will probably kill themselves in the semi-finals.

Extremely difficult to predict. Either Djokovic or Murray, cant see Fed or Rafa for obvious reasons. However Murray and Djokovic getting drawn together, could give some hope to Fed/Rafa.

Any ideas on why Del Potro has never really done well here? I would think slow hardcourts would suit him exceptionally well, but he hasn't done very much. Ran into Roger twice in the quarters, but could hardly put up a fight each time.

It all depends on the draw. Roger will have chances if Murray and Djokovic are on same half. If Murray wins, then Roger will have more chances of winning.

I agree. IF Nadal is not 100% that is. I think that Nadal will be at 90% which is good enough to beat current Roger on slowass HC.

If Nadal is back, he'll be 100% match-fit. I can't see him taking all this time off and coming back being anything less than match-fit. He may still be rusty, but if he can get to the SF, he will have run himself into some sort of form and stands a fighting chance against anyone, including Djokovic (and can definitely beat Federer). So, either way, Nadal won't be losing to Federer at AO 2013 in my view.
