I dont think there is a difference, but vsbabolat will know.

I decided to have 6 grams of silicone put into the handle. That way I can keep the balance close to the same, which is how I like it, and have the Hydrosorb on both sticks for consistency. I love the prestiges right at 11.9 after og and damp. I feel like they are perfect that way. I wish I could mod the Youtek retail to that weight as well.

I was going on experience. I put new hydrosorbs on my mids before the current leather and they felt more cushioned/thicker than the tours. But that also could have been due to compression from use.

RYU, you may be right. TW just says Hydrosorb in the specs. But I did put it on the TGK and liked it a lot. I think it has a little more cushion and weight to it like you said. That is exactly what I need on the pc600, since it is a very thin pallet (tk76) and the leather was so thin on it that sometimes I felt like it could come out of my hand as well.

I love the balance of the prestiges so much that I had to add the silicone weight..it is just perfectly balanced and not worth changing to me.

The Trek Font was during the PC600's first year of release I believe. The value for them is much higher as they were only produced for one year and were all made in Austria. People claim they play differently but I wouldn't know, I just own the 'Classic Mid'.

Agreed..With an overgrip the balance on my PC600 is just about 8 points - perfect :)

Glad it's working out for you. There is nothing better than having your frames set up exactly the way you like them. I've been so much happier since my frames were matched up and leathered. Having them all the same is great because I know that no matter which frame I grab it will swing exactly the same as the others.

I think I may go with a different leather grip next time. The Head calfskin is really thin and took a little bit off the grip size. Even with the OG it still can feel small at times. So, I think that I will look at the Volkl or Babolat leathers next time.

There was a seller on e@@y about two months ago selling new trek font pc600 with radical cover, only show one small picture. I offered him $300 and he ended up selling for $400 to somebody else. There are people want it and they can isentify the racket eventhough the pic did not show the details.

Buy any version of pc600, just make sure it is in good condition

You need to upload the picture to a pic hosting site like tinypic.com and then copy past the link here.

Websites can't read pictures right off your computer like that.

Regardless, I agree, the 600 has insaneo feel. Definitley one of the best groundstroke sticks of all time. I can not wait to see how mine handles full poly at 48#s.

Tension feels great around there PP. Next restring I'm gonna try out some Polystar Strike at low 40s. It's a 1.25mm gauge so shouldn't be too out of control. Ryushen, Volkl leather is great but I've heard nice things about Babolat as well. I just ordered 2 Fairways though off the bay for only about $30, they're coming in today.

I've heard that Volkl is really nice which is why I will look at it. But it will be a while since my Head Calfskins just got put on in December. I was going to order fairways off the bay but the ones from Balmforth were way expensive and I couldn't find a reliable seller that had 3 in the same cut..

I think I am now a believer in LOW tensions on the prestige(well low to me, will go lower some time soon.)

I strung up my Youtek Prestige Mid with ALU Power last night @52lbs and it felt great today.

I do 50#s with black magic. Try that setup and thank me later. The pocketing you get with the black magic in the prestige is perfection.

You should man. I have 1 classic mid/pc600 as well and they are both matched up to weigh 11.9 (no leather grip for me..synth and tourna).

The Pc600 still has the best feel of all, but the TGK has an awesome sweetspot as well.

I'm actually selling my Youtek Mid, so if anyone wants one on 9/10 shape in grip 3..hit me up. It weighs half an ounce more then my main mids so it is tough for me to switch to during a match.

After gaining more information I noticed that they replaced the original leather grip with a synthetic one and the CAP bumper guard have been removed as well. I also don't know if the collar is still present as that is not visible on the pictures the buyer sent me. Besides the grip size is one size too big for me.

Should I buy this one nevertheless?

I might order a new Prestige Mid CAP grommet set and put an leather grip on it. I still have a TK82S pallets at home as well. So I need to customize the PC600 a lot.

Check carefully the upperhoop at twelve for any hairline crack and check all string holes. I bought many new and used Prestige since 2003, these two are the common things on used Prestige frames

Tried out 41/39 with PolyStar Strike on my PC and it was a nice experiment. The spin is huge but flat contact and the ball's gone. Pretty effortless serves and volleys were decent. The feel is more mushy and a bit more vibration but not too much different. Next time I'll try stringing in the upper 40s

finally got to use my head pro stock microgel mid tgk237.1- ABSOLUTELY a beast of a racket, so much control, suprised about lack of spin but neverless compared to what i usually use k90- alot better and not turning back. I might go back to eastern grip, as it promotes flat hitting

I picked up a couple of PT10s in LM Prestige and I. prestige paint the other week and finally got a chance to hit a bit with them today down at Flamingo Park. Awesome experience! What plow through and weight they impart on the ball.. beastly rackets. ..( oh i used black code 17 gauge at 48 lbs and it suited them very well imo.:)) Love these.

Just picked up a MG Prestige Mid off of craigslist. It's at the stinger right now, but it felt great in the hand initially. I will report back with my thoughts once I get to hit with it!

Well, if you check the initial pages, you will notice that I onde tried the YT Mids. I was really curious to know how a Prestige Mid plays, so I decided to order 2 of them.

I really liked how they played, so much control, but personally, I prefer the feel from my 4[D]100s. Although the Mids are already in the weight range I like to play, and the 100s need lead tape, I just felt that I was enjoying tennis more with the Dunlops.

So, this year I decided to drop the tension on my racquets. I was using something around 50lbs by the end of last year, and now I'm using something between 39-43lbs. And that was a good opportunity to test them again, if the tension drop would give me a different feel, close to what my 100s deliver.

So I borrowed one from a friend and strung it with Mosquito Bite 1.16 @ 45lbs, just to compensate the greater power of the string, but I just can't get used to the Head feel. Also, the grip shape is something that really bothers me.

Good luck to you all, this is indeed a great racquet!

DaDozen can you compare the prestige mid to the Dunlop 100s? Also I noticed you switched from Scorpion to Tornado care to explain why you did that as well?

I hit with a Dunlop 100 and I have to say the feel is pretty awesome. Not really a stick I'd switch to now, but if I was still in the hunt for a mid, the 100 would have to be up there. It is extremely comfortable and can hit bombs. You just need to add some lead to dial it in and you are set.

GoodSamaritan, I'll compare the YT Prestige Mid with my modded 4D100s. That means, as you can see in my sig, 5g @ 3&9, 2g @ 12, and 13g of silicone inside the handle.

I must say that they play very similarly. Lots of control, enough power if used with the right tensions, great maneuverability. Pure performance, to sum up. To be honest, even modded, my 4D100s still feel a bit more maneuverable than the stock YT Prestige Mids.

The only differences are a bit more spin for the Dunlops, which help me because I'm a flat hitter, and a better feel( for me ). I like the butery feel they deliver, while the YTs gave me a more crispy feel.

And, as said before, I just can't get used to the Head grip shape. It feels awful in my hand. But I've never owned a Head in all my tennis life - which means, more than 20 years. I've played with Wilsons, Dunlops and Yonexs, so I like the rounded grips they have.

About the string change, I'll start saying that I've played with Scorpion for more than a year. Tested a lot of polys, and I always went back to Scorpion 1.22. It gave me the best performance, but I always wanted something with a better feel. **As you can see, I'm all about feel:lol:**

This year I dropped the tension on my racquets from 50-52 lbs to 39-43lbs. That helped me on the feel, so I started testing some strings. I've never liked SPPP because it felt too stiff for me, but with low tensions it plays great. And it seems that SPPP Pure 1.18 plays like Scorpion, so I decided to get a reel. While I wait the reel to be delivered, I'm playing with SPPP 1.18.

I also felt that shaped polys in the crosses let the mains move easier, so I decided to get Tornado 1.17 just for the crosses. Right now, the SPPP 1.18 x Tornado 1.17 combo is playing great. Gives me everything I want, at the right level: power, control, tension stability, feel.

The silicone inside the handle also helps delivering a better feel, truth be told.

This may not be the right spot, but I have (2) You Tek Prestige Mids, and my Strung Weight on both is 12.6!! TW has it listed at 12.2 in the spec sheet strung. The only difference is I do have one tourna overgrip on mine. I'm the second owner of these as I got them off ****. I would just like to know if anyone else has run into this weight discrepancy?

Ok...Looked under the grommets and don't see any lead and there is no lead in the grip. What gives?

PP: Weighed the frame strung, with no dampener. I don't know what the deal is. I guess there could be some silly in the grip??

I need help, cuz thses frames are too heavy. I have stock PC 600's and they are both matched at 12.3!!

Hey all! My local shop is having a clearance on some rackets and the Youtek Prestige mid is one of them. I might just pick one up because I've never owned a prestige before.... :)

Any multi strings that you would recommend with tensions? My arm hates poly and overly stiff strings! :)

    Thanks!

X-1 Biphase, TGV, NXT, IntelliTour, Isospeed are good. Just make sure you stay away from Excel.

Thanks for the strings suggestions! Why to stay away from excel though? Just curious! :)

Oh their having just a little sale and Youtek Prestige Mids are on sale for 109 or 119, I can't remember what he said on the phone. But it is considerably cheaper then even TW! This also includes free stringing. From the sounds of it a few rackets are on for really cheap.

Longtime Rad user here; been using incarnations of it since the Liquidmetal line...

I'm curious about the YT Prestige Mid.... Would any of you care to chime in on what my experience might be like? I am a 3.0, I hit with some spin but tend to be a shotmaker as opposed to one who constructs rallies.. I've always felt right at home with mid frames but never gave the Prestige a try..

Hey all! Just picked up a YTK Prestige Mid today. Sale price PLUS free string and stringing of my choice. I picked it with Head RIP Control 16 @ 52lbs. It's how I test all my frames. My favorite string @ lowest rec tension to see how my arm likes it, then I go from there.

After this job is done, I'll be trying X1, then NXT! I'm SO excited to try this frame. It will be ready on Tuesday, so I shall see how it is. I love mids and this seems like THE quintessential mid of the past few decades, next to the PS85.

Thanks all for the information. Also, does anyone use any specific set ups they like with Lead/dampeners/Overgrips that they would recommend?

Well looks like this club has a new member!!! After testing out the Wilson Six.One Tour and the Head YOUTEK Prestige Mid I definitely liked the Head racket better. Step 2 however, what kind of strings to get with this? I am not familiar with strings but my overall game is one the baseline I would say and a low hard ball is usually what I like to play with and sometime throw in a slice or drop shot. I volley only occasionally but have started to go up to the net more lately. Any ideas on what types of strings?

Ohhh that sounds VERY appealing! Once I pick up a few more Prestiges, I will try this one out.

Btw, TOTAL noob question here. What do the CAP grommets stand for? I never caught this anywhere... :(

Great choice. The YT mid can be very string sensitive though. I would recommend a newer co-poly at the at no higher than 55lbs.

It is a killer setup. The racquet does all the work and is incredibly easy to swing.

Sounds great! What do the CAP Grommets do exactly? I've never really looked into them! I tried googling and came up with nothing.

The CAPs , imho, serve two purposes: 1) to protect the entire hoop of the frame 2) to evenly distribute mass around the frame to increase the overall weight of the frame.
