    gonna bump this up again

Got my PT630 out recently for a hit and for some reason I snagged another... and now I am in the process of sorting getting their weight and balance

My first PT630 has this TK55A bumper, may I know if this is the original ones found on this racket? or is it some Microgel/Youtek Radial bumper/grommet
My 2nd PT630 comes with this 3/4 CAP, is this the i.Prestige XL MP ones (I cant find any TK code on it)?

    Caps

I'm sure this has been covered but what Caps fit at this moment in time. 2012/13 model racquets. Thank you in advance for any response as I know this is tedious.

Is there anyway to make this thing lighter? :)

My pt630 is 354g strung, with one overgrip ... is that the normal weight btw?
It's too heavy for me, hopefully i can make it lighter somehow.

The spec is 340g strung, I think. If it is CAPed, replace it with non-cap grommets. A lighter grip may help but may change the balance.

340g strung? are you sure about that? I always thought its 332g unstrung...

Which version do you have, the old Heads have varying weights and PT630 trek font with non CAPS is lightest, usually 320g unstrung with original synthetic grip..

If yours is already the non CAPS version, you can change to Microgel Radical MP grommets (reduce 7g from original TK55A) , change your overgrip to Wilson Pro Sensation (3g, lighter than most), rewrap the replacement grip with minimal overlap to reduce another 1-2g, change your dampener to rubberband (1g, lightest), what else............:)

My PT630 has trek font, non CAPS, and is still over 350g strung (main grip+overgrip and nothing else) is that normal?

EDIT: yeah, I have TK55A, now its gonna be ultra hard to find Microgel Radical MP grommets (whats their marking?).

It is normal if you have heavy string (thick gauge poly or gut). There is no code on MG Radical MP grommets, I looked at one. TW sells it, easy..

    Hi,
i hope anyone can help me, i have question about my PT630 MIA.
Inside the throat is printed that it has 16x19 string pattern. But I counted the strings and it definitely has 18x20, so they printed the wrong on the frame.
Does anybody know about this? Is it a wrong print or a fake?
    Regards

Do all Radical MP grommets fit on pt630, or just some (like microgel)?

I managed to get hold of a pro tour 630 which was in good condition however the cap grommet was pretty worn at the top from wear. I had it strung a couple of times like this and it swung fine but since I have replaced the cap grommets It seems to have a might higher swing weight. Does anyone know if some of the tk57 cap grommets weigh more than others? I understand that the wear on the previous grommets may have taken a couple of swing weight points off of the racket but I wouldn't have thought it would be to the extent I'm feeling

What is a good tension for Natural Gut for a PT630 Made in Austria Shadow font? For reference, I string my Extreme 2.0 Pro at 60 lbs for Natty gut and find it slightly boardy and would like to reduce tension.

Is it strange that "constant beam" mark is only on one side ??? Does anyone knows what version it is ? Btw, it is made in Austria PT280, and it is not fake, I have 3 more PT630, and all are the same.

It does not compare. The 25th anniversary is just the IG Prestige MP with black paint.

yes, same question here: anyone played with the latest IG Prestige MP (red or black) and how do they compare to the original PT630/280?
    - feel?
    - control
    - spin
    - power
    - serves
    - touch shots ..... ????

I don't think they really compare at all. The 630 is more flexible (630 is roughly 57RA, the IG is 63RA). The 630 is more plush feeling and not as pingy as the IG. Just my opinion...

Pro Tour 630 has zero ping. Makes a wonderful thud sound when you hit the ball. While the IG Prestige MP has a ping.

PT has way more power then Prestige, while being more plush at the same time.

Are there changes made to the midplus 2013 and the midplus 2014?
Or is it just the paintjob and the red grommets?

From what i have heard, its only a new paintjob

vs is correct it is not just a paint job there is visible graphene molecules (hexes) on the throat ala new radical which has a completely different mold, so far it feels nice, nicer than the microgel prestige which is the closest to the PT630 IMO

"Visible" graphene molecules would be just the paint job, no? How would one see a molecule? ;)

Are you going compare back to back PT630 with new Graphene Prestige with same string on both rackets?

    Has VsBabolat tested it too?

correct but not paint job, there is "sheet" molded inside the graphite that is raised, with graphene shaped "molecules" what ever it is does make the frame feel soft and more muted, Head is trying to bring back the long gone feel of Twaron by using graphene to mimic similar feel, graphene is expensive
yes but I have not have enough time to test them back to back all else equal

    Hi guys,

I am trying to find out the possibilities to order PT57A, TGK237.2 and TGK237.1, but the factory doesn’t “understand” these codes and asks some kind of “Article Codes”. What is that? What could be these Article Codes for PT57A, TGK237.2 and TGK237.1 respectively?

I guess I'm one of you guys now!

Picked up two china made PT280s in 9/10 condition for about $20 the other day.

    Pretty good steal right!

Anyways, what can you experts tell me about this racquet? And what is the difference between these Chinese ones and the austrian ones?

And also, the difference between the PT280 and the PT57E or PT57A?

    THANKS EVERYONE.
