He took part of 3 slams and won 2.
Djokovic took part of 4 slams and won 1,
He won more master 1000 than Djokovic and ended up number 1 in november and Djokovic number 2.
i am not sure why we are having this discussion :D

Because you stated Nadal's 2013 was "hands down better than Djokovic's". BTW Nadal doesn't gain any bonus points for not playing AO- he may as well have just lost in the 1st round. Nole finished last year with more than 1,000 points from all 4 Slams than Nadal did.

maybe it's an english problem from me then, i thought "hand down" meant obvious.
Nadal was not "way better" than Djokovic in 2013 but he was "clearly" the better player of the year, results wise.

Then that's what you should've said in the first place. And yes, he was better but not "clearly" by any means. Nole's 2011 was "clearly".

I think it is a bit of a joke Fed leads this poll by so much.

Willing to eat crow if Fed wins...but just because Rafa is out doesn't make him the favorite....an uninjured Novak is still the favorite imo regardless of 2 listless masters performances...Fed has had his worst results lately at the USO and is vulnerable to a big hitter in the 4th round/quarters and I don't like him in 5 sets vs. Novak...took the 1st on grass and still couldn't get it done.

My kids are hoping Murray will win it as I'm cancelling our Sky subscription if he doesn't. I only have it to watch his matches and at the moment he's not worth £70/month!

Except this is too little too late for old and washed up 33 year old Fed. He will still likely find a way to lose. Nadal got that draw when he was all of 23-24 at the peak of his powers ?

Tsonga in Djoko's quarter.. AGAIN!!! WTF?!

    French Open '14
    Wimbledon '14
    Toronto '14
    Cinci '14
    and now US Open '14

I believe, the only major/master this year that Jo hasn't been in his half(/ mostly quarter) was at the AO...

Nice draw for Fed. He needs to make it happen.
    Feeling for Andi though.
Ferrer probs got the worst draw of the Top4.
I feel, Raonic has the chance to go deep here....

Federer can't win in this draw....then there no hope for another Major. This is godsend for him.

    Why?
    Fed's got a good draw.
Novak's not as tough as it looks though. He can only meet either Tsonga or Murray, not both. Still tougher than Fed's though, but that's because of Wawa rather than Tsonga/Murray.
Imo, Dimi is just as tough in the quarter and I have him as the 4th favorite for the tournament now, slightly behind Wawa.

Isner in the 4th? Sure, not easy for Djoko, if Isner gets there, but then again - when was the last time Isner ever got past the 4th round in a slam? QF at the US in 2011, his only GS QF. And he may be too injured to even play, let alone get to the 4th.

Andy has a draw from hell, but that's what you get, when you're down at 8th. It's not like anyone was expecting him to win it given his complete lack of top-10 wins for 13,5 months

    Reading comprehension.
FeRrer not FeDErer. I am not sure how else I should let you know that your post(or more like your argument) has absolutely nothing to do with the highlighted quote of mine.... Top 4 seeds(Djoko, Fed, Wawa, Fer).
Actually, if anything, what you have posted above agrees with me that Ferrer's draw is thougher than Djoko's, Fed's and Wawa's.

Having seen the draw - Tsonga to beat Murray and Djokovic, then run out of steam against Raonic. Federer to sneak past Dimitrov and smash Ferrer, then beat Raonic in the final in 4 sets.

Huge odds but that won't make a difference, if you decide to hedge your profit sill will be very small if Janowicz manages to win 2 matches.

For the comparison, I bet on Cilic @180/1

If he'll make the R16 he'll still be @90 or something, I will hedge, but my stake is small and I won't earn much anyway.

I played it on Betfair by the way, best way to trade.

I can't see how you'll manage to trade Janowicz if you don't play on Betfair.

Please explain how Ferrer is the worst 4th seed?

He's made a few slams in that rank, and hits quarters and semis every time. A bad 4th seed doesn't make it to second week.

Is it because he has trouble with the big 4? News flash...so does everyone else or we wouldn't have Stan Wawrinka and Del Potro as the only two non big 4 winners in the past five years.

We're gonna need a new poll! Nadal isn't playing.

And a potentially very interesting first round match, Tomic vs Brown.
