    Greetings all,

you may know it, there is this big auction website, very popular, well just today someone bought a vintage Dunlop Max 200G for $500.
I think for that much I would expect John McEnroe to come round and give me some tips on how to use it, but each to his own I suppose.

    Whaddayathink?

(it is item 170158870161 if you want to see it)

    That's TOO much...

I would rather use the money on something more useful.

OTT price there. I'd expect a brand new rqt, still with the plastic on the grip for that much. It's way over the odds for it.

Where abouta are you in Hampshire Michael? I;m just North of Portsmouth

    Regards

    Paul

Yes, I was watching that auction too for the past few days. Could NOT believe that it got up to $510!!! Pretty insane!! :-o

Gee, I should have never given my early Max200G away for free a few years ago. :-(

Saw a new PC 600 on a US site for $400. Don't know where they get them from. Austria maybe?

I am pretty new to this site. What auction site is it that you are talking about? Ha that seems outrageous for a old racquet like that to sell for $500.

Yes, but this Max200G was not new, it was used. If it were brand new, never strung, with plastic still on the grip then I might be able to understand the high price. But this was not the case here.

a 'Federer special mold' wilson racquet went for $715 a few days ago. item 260168379650

People must be buying them to put in museums or something.

Damn - I found my Max 200G for $10 Australian! I'm guessing at that auction price it probably won't see much court time.

I've seen some Prestige Pro's go for quite a hefty price as well.

You have to trust the feedback rating of the seller and ask the right questions ot make sure that you know what you're buying.

Well, it's pretty hard to find one with 4 strings on the pws, retail is 5...
also the bumperguard is not the same.

he's got pretty hard evidence if you ask me.

But the Japan only Federer Special Edition nCode 90 also had 4 crosses at the PWS.

Also, Wilson could have made that nCode 90 for another pro and not Federer. Believe it or not, there were also other pros that used the nCode 90 (or paintjob thereof), just not as well-known nor highly ranked as Federer.
