Granted, I don't know what he actually did because the camera was so far away, but one youtube poster pointed out that the umpire was celebrating as Federer won. Check it out at 10 seconds.

    Looks hilarious.

No way he was celebrating, he was just showing that the ball was out.

Probably, but it does look funny because he is moving his arm back and forth. :D

Fate, the epic picture had to be posted. Thanks!

I think he was just waving a fly out of his face. You get those in London around this time of the year. I love that chair umpire btw.

Who doesn't like fed? He's such an admiral guy.

It looks like he's gesturing that the ball was out. He did it throughout that match on close calls. Notice how he extends the arm before the point is over at the 12th second of this clip.

Its a scandal, a disgrace, an outrage!

I demand the result of the match be nullified and a replay scheduled immediately with a new umpire in the chair!

His job was done anyway. He can do whatever once he says "game, set and match". It is not that he was found unfair in any of his rulings.

If he was not showing that the ball was out, then I guess the guy simply wanted some attention, knowing that the whole thing was going to be all over youtube.

lol come on guys, the umpire is human. It's championship point. He's allowed to show some emotion besides just turning his head on a swivel side to side 900 times a day.

Before the match Chris Fowler said something about the umpire not being able to officiate the finals that Nadal played in since they're both Spanish. Is this true? I never knew that they took nationality into account

it's nothing. he was just showing Fed some support.
he would have done the same if it was Murray.

I think you are being a ****. I just wanted to draw attention to one of the top comments on the video. Thought that some other people would find it funny too. I had no I idea it was libel against the umpire.

Jeez, it was an obvious joke, it just looked liked the umpire pumped fist at Fed winning (we all know it isn't true).

The people in the front row seem confused. Not only the lady, but even the fat guy who is looking confused at the guy next to him.

What is that ugly obscene thing that suddenly appears at about 26 seconds ??? LOL.

Umpire is doing the finger thing from FO '11 lol. Maybe he had a bet with someone and that was him telling whomever not to bet against Fed again. ;)

Yes, it's true. An umpire cannot chair a match at a Grand Slam tournament in which a player from his country is playing, unless both players are from the same country.
