Legend
What it says. This is where you come to complain/moan/grouse/whine about anything you wanna get off your chest. After being bombarded with the complete farce-cum-pandemonium that is the ongoing Djokovic-Down-Under brouhaha I felt we could use an outlet for release like this.
For the record I do want this thread to survive so let's try to keep it within bounds, please. Though I practically never report anyone for anything I will be vigilant about any rule-breaking content that might get this thread deleted.
With that out of the way, let me start with two all-time operatic faves I return to whenever I feel like letting off steam. First, La Divina (who else?):
That earthshaking vibrato never fails to send chills down my spine. And to think it all came about by accident! (Check out Shahrdad's informative top comment here for the backstory.) For my money, the single greatest vocal performance by anyone, of anything.
Now a gentleman's turn, if you can call this Tarzan of a tenor that:
For you non-classical buffs the Tosca of choice remains the legendary 1953 Callas/Di Stefano/Gobbi/Sabata recording, at worst among the top 100 of the 20h century in any genre. But I'd be lying if I said I turn to Di Stefano's sensitive, tasteful reading more than Corelli's volcanic eruptions that threaten to veer off but never quite do. And they certainly fit this particular bill!
You get the idea. Feel free to share any story, music, video or whatever that helps you cope with anything that drives you bats... or just plain rant as you see fit... again within reason!
