I've been going back and forth deciding on whether to start playing tournaments again, after some thought I've decided to go for it. The last USTA tournament I played was about 4 years ago but in the juniors mostly level 1 or 2(novices and challengers). I'm thinking about playing in 3.5 tournaments, what should I expect? 4.0s playing in the 3.5s? below 3.5s playing in 3.5s?

play and find out.....good luck, dont worry about others, just play your best and always always learn from every match, win or lose.

Although occasionally you get an unrated player who is playing down, I would say it is much more common to get a lower rated player playing up a level.

In any case it really doesn't matter. Once you decided to play, just go out and play and not worry about who is in level or not.
