Don't know who it is but his kick serves look like they get alott of action on em. last one seems really good too. Any idea of what ntrp a serve like that would be?

Yeah, those are some really nice kickers. I think he's a poster on here. Those are serves of someone 5.0+.

Good ball action, moderate height, great disquise, should be effective up to 5's. Yes, he posts here sometimes.

Is it comparable to your serve from 80's?

VERY nice serve indeed! Very effortless and smooth motion. A+

Btw, PD is simply designed for kick! :) That's where its stiffness REALLY helps :)

Kind of similar to my present serve in action, though I get a little more kick to the right usually and often more velocity and height. He seems to have more twist action on the ball - starts going a bit to the left, then bounces right, which is pretty tricky. I'm a 4.0 now. Can't tell much about the level of a person strictly by the serve.

If I am not mistaken, ZP said he used eastern backhand grip to get extra rpms on those kick serves.

Can anyone comment on the finish? Is that unusual to halt the racquet like that next to the right leg?

Finish on the right side is more like a true twist serve rather than just a kick.

Perfectly ok. Santoro was ending his serve motion just like that especially on the add side...

Most twist serves, finish is on racket hand side, because the swing is up and outwards. See SamStosur's
Bob, my twist right now is about the same height, twists about the same angles, but I finish off to my left ... and normally use it on ad court only..:):)
I don't have nearly the ball speed, but probably as much spin and a much higher net clearance.
As said, I can twist it around top of the head most times to 6' tall guys. Unfortunately, that serve does no good against my peers, because they just step in and crush it at my feet either underspin (lefties), or topspin (righties) and I answer with my usual weak half volley.
Couple of the better guys here in Berkeley can twist it a solid foot over my head, and just laugh at my feeble attempts if I accidentally hit to their forehand side.
    I'm 5'11".

In the early 1970s this would be a 7.0 serve, I suspect.

Another 15 mph and it would be as good as Sam Stosur's serve!

That's just a bad bounce on the court. We have one court at our club that if the right spot is hit, it launches the ball up just like in the video. Nothing like hitting an overhead for a return :)

For that overhead alone the guy should retire like yesterday :)

And of course it was a bad bounce :)

  22. Great kick serve, a lot better than mine (the kick), would be even better if he could add some speed on that kicker.
