Actually, he's been more focused on adding as many needless exos into his schedule as he possibly can. Nadal is notorious for overdoing it, and I am sure next year will be yet another horrific down year for him since he seems to never learn, and instead chases money he clearly does not need.

    I haven't complained .

It's been amazing watching him rise from a 17 year old clay court specialist to possibly the greatest and in my book the greatest of all time.

I still remember watching this kid at 17 run out like a race horse with his Capri and bouncing around like a boxer.

I was so amazed.....Nadal was Rick and roll baby. It's been a helluva ride!

the most amazing thing about his resurgence is that the best is yet to come.

clay warrior has always saved the best for last.

What needless exos has he added? Perhaps, 2014 will not be as incredible as 2013, but I doubt that it will be "horrific." It seems as though his knees are okay for now. I think he added Basel because he wants to consolidate his position at #1 (assuming he gets there).

I think playing Rio next year is smart. He wants to play the Olympics there in 2016. It will probably be an easy win (next year, not the Olympics), the clay isn't too hard on his knees, etc.

IIRC, the count so far for needless exos this year and into early next year is 5. That's way too many for him considering he also has an over loaded schedule for the rest of the season as well. Playing so many needless tournaments and exos after an exhausting year, does not bode well for the future. Nadal is prone to burning out and getting injured, just like he did in 2009, 2011, and 2012.

Nadals finest hour just doesn't fit in my opinion. He's had so many wonderful moments, his career has been an awesome journey to watch. I look forward to the next chapter. He's been consistent in saying, this year is about passion for the game. Of course, that could just be a part of his explaining himself in English better.

Rafa doesn't have a finest hour in my mind, but rather a career that is fine!

The greatest moments of Nadal's first great rivalry was beating Federer on grass and then on hc in slam finals. He's now onto his second incredible rivalry, and a far more challenging one, and I think taking Nole down on hc in a slam for the first time since 2010 is the pinnacle of Nadal's resurgance.

I respect your opinion, but stand by my statement. The two can live together. I just don't distill Nadal to a few tournaments. I see the career. Maybe, I'm splitting hairs in not picking some of his best wins, but, there are far more than 2008 W and 2013 USOpen for me.

You would be complaining if he had just scheduled one exo as well.

Not really, but you would be defending his dumb scheduling decisions even if he scheduled 20 exos in 2 days. Nadal is a deity to you, and can do no wrong in your eyes. I hope you're ready for another down year in 2014 because that's exactly what's going to happen.

Are you referring to animal abuse? Well, you still haven't ditched him for hanging out with bull fighters, or for fishing and wearing leather. Face it; nothing he could ever do would be contemptible enough in your eyes for you to actually disapprove. You defend him about everything no matter what it is.

And IIRC, you defending him when I posted a picture of him with said bull fighter last year as well.

    I am.

Uhm, what are you talking about?, I have disapproved and criticized him for fishing, hanging out with people like Feliciano Lopez and that idiotic kind of Spain, and for the pic with that "bullfighter". That doesn't mean that I'm going to ditch him over it. I would if he himself would go to bullfights though.

Ditching him over wearing leather?, lol, I'm not that extremist. Why don't I "ditch" anyone who eats meat too.

You remember wrong. It sparked a long debate which was then erased because apparently the mods found it too offensive or something.

We don't know if he even knew who that guy was though, and it was that idiot who posted the pic with Rafa, not the other way around.
