Look at what the X1 did to him at FO. Is the racquet really that good?
It looks like he's still playing with the Pro Braided in the pics of him @ RG.
That would be the first time in history that a racquet manufacturer would paint a new model racquet to look like an old model racquet. It's always the other way around. They paint an old discontinued racquet to look like the newest model they are trying to sell because the pro still likes to use the old racquet but they need to push and sell the new model since the old model is no longer available to the public. If Henman is indeed using a X-1, why in the world would Slazenger paint it to look like a Pro Braided that has been discontinued? :?
He still uses the Pro Braided.
Slazenger have been brought out by a company over here in England and Tim won't be changing to the X1.
I think the paint makes a difference to him (as it does to any pro)
He has been using a similar racket for all his life, with a wilson 6.1 classic and now Pro Braided. Why change to something a bit different?
Trust me he won't be winning the FO with an X1, but he will be winning it woth a Pro Braided
agree with liam
if he lost it would have been because he made the switch
So Nas Eclipse,
You believe me when I say he will win RG with a Pro Braided?
Good for you!!
I guess Sport Soccer wasn't too high on the retro "S" logo that Slazenger switched to for Wimy last year, as Tim has reverted to the classic panther stencil. Good choice.
LIAM: are you saying that Tim will not be retained by the new owners of Slaz/Dunlop? If not, will he stick with the ProBraided?
Have you hit with an X1?
I think they had the S logo in tribute to 100 years of Slazenger which was last year.
I think he uses a totally custom frame, with pretty similar stats to the PS Classic 6.1
All I now is that he WILL be sticking with the Pro Briaded. I don't know if thats because he isn't getting his contract renewed, or if it's just because he loves the Pro Briaded.
As for the X1 I have had a hit with it an think that it would be better suited to a one handed backhand S&V'er. I am a 2 handed backhand all courter and found it not to have the correct spin and power combination off my BH side. The volleys and serves were second to none though and an improvement on the PB.
A decent racket but not quite the consistency on my famous groundies.
If you are a pure S&V'er then this is the ultimate stick to have.
POG's rule though!!!
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the feedback on the X1. I have a Henman PB and want an X1 out of curiosity. Tim's website says he is sponsored by Slaz. for the immediate future.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT HILAROUS POST ABOUT UK vs. ARGENTINA FROM THURSDAY (Hand of God, RAF Harriers, the Falklands etc...IT'S GONE)?????
Yeah I wondered where that had gone. Did you see my Maradona and Coria pic of them playing football (soccer)?
I think some people got a bit touchy about it though so Chris or Don may of deleted it.
Coria is the one in goal.
He will never use the Pro X 1........ Trust me, i developed it for Slazenger. Email me if you want any further details
made by Warren Bosworth, I understand?
ya, if u look at pics his beam is the same as the 6.1 classic but with no PWS
