I did a search but didn't really find anything. I'm curious, when do you know its time to change strings. I'm not a string breaker whatsoever but I have had babolat natural gut strings in my racquets for about 4 months now. They have some fraying on them in certain spots and it seems like i have less control over the last month or so. Any help in this would be appreciated.

After 4 months gut would be the only string I wouldnt replace, it hold tension better than any other string and is still very playable.

Depends on how often you play, but after 4 months, I'd restring any string (I don't play with natural gut, even $15/string for me is a lot). But natural gut does fray quiet a bit but lasts quiet long from what I've heard. If I payed $30-$43 for a string, I'd play it until it snaps. =).

Just play it until it snaps. Especially if it is Gut. Also, if it is starting to fizz, then you have only a few hits left with it.
