Never heard of this one. Can you post a link to it, plz? Most of the other "off brand" gut strings sold on e-Bay have been low quality according to feedback on here.

Just took the $14 plunge...think I can afford a trial at that price. Don't know how quickly it will arrive cross-country. That packaging looks awfully familiar--might lose some sleep trying to remember where I've seen it in my 30+ years of tennis. The package deals on **** look like some we have seen before--hope it's not who I think it is.

Interesting tidbit...the recipient of my PayPal $ was Klip America. I knew the packaging looked familiar. I'm still looking forward to trying the nat gut. I'll post a review.

Interesting the PayPal transaction was with Klip USA and the string is made in New Zealand. I thought they were an Australian company? Isn't Pacific gut made in New Zealand?

I believe Klip is 100% Australian. Something about Australian cows or something eat more kangaroos and get more springiness or something. I don't know, correct me if I'm wrong.

CoachRick is awaiting the arrival of the Titan/Klip. If it arrives today or Friday, I'll hit it Friday night, weather permitting.

Interesting, this would be a great deal if it plays well.

Even though I have not rec'd the original set I ordered, I took a chance and bought a few more sets. At less than $12 per, I can find some use for them. Promise to post a review ASAP.

I got my package of 15L today.

I strung it up. It felt a little dry, the ends were somewhat brittle and the surface texture seemed a little inconsistant and varying.

Couldn't really tell too much about the consistancy of the diameter/gage.

I will post my impressions too when I hit with it.

It looks like "Titan" was one of earliest natural gut strings
    manufactured for tennis in 1960s(?).

    http://www.tennisheritage.com/custom/rackets.html

It's manufactured by australian division of an american company
but string is from new zealand.
My guess is Titan WAS fine quality string if its name was mentioned in an article on tennis string.....

I got a set of the 16g Titan in on Tuesday and strung it up. It was a little brittle at the tips but other than that it strung up just fine. I have played with the string for about 4 hours and it plays really nice. It does not have the exact same feel as Bab VS but for $12 I think it is well worth it.

CoachRick checking in...Got my set Tuesday and installed it last night in a new Volkl Tour10 V m+ @ 60#. Did not prestretch but might next time to remove some coil memory. This string 'fractures' very easily and requires a bit more care than good old VS. A couple of individual ribbons frayed during stringing...nothing to write home about but, again, it ain't VS. The gauge was pretty consistent except for the very ends. Didn't measure the coil but I would estimate very close to 40' in length. Got 56 people signed up for a Round Robin tonight...hope someone doesn't show so I can play!!! Will update as I get to hit with the Titan. BTW, I ordered a few more sets...even if durability is only fair, at least DW will have some fun strings!

Not only did I get to hit tonight with the Titan, I had to play one against two for the Round Robin...at least I got a workout! The Titan gut was a pleasant reminder of how nice natural gut feels. The V engine 10 is a good bit more powerful than the Tour 10 mid but most of the extra pop came from the string. The strings feel tight when hitting but boy are they lively! 60# CP--one ahead feels pretty crisp but nothing moves the ball like gut. I only needed to straighten the strings once after a spirited exchange...not bad for 17ga in a 16 main pattern. Durability will be tested over the next few days. I'll post any unusual findings.
