Brian, don't know if you get Tennis Channel but if you do, look for their 1988 Davis Cup final highlights show. It was Sweden V. Germany. Carl-Uwe Steeb can be seen sporting two excellent Coolmax shirts from the '89 line, white w/ black/gray/green shoulders and short sleeves and an even better white with royal blue and yellow underarm and side panels. And yes, Steeb's plain-ass white Nike shorts did have pleats! Please keep up the excellent post sign-offs featuring vintage gear from that era!

Well thank you, Colpo. That means a lot. I'm doing everything I can to bring back the popularity of the Nike Challenge Court stuff from the Ag/Mac era, short of actually contacting Nike. I'm not sure they'd listen to me or who I could talk to. Just wait it out.

I had John McEnroe at a table behind me at the restaurant where we went to eat when I turned 17 (10 years ago), but you just can't interrupt his dinner and ask "Hey, do you think you could get one of those old shirts for me?"

I have met a number of people here who have been of great help like 127, PrestigeClassic, and pfeher. Kent S., who used to post here often, has a shirt, but I never heard back from him. Yonexplayer was the guy that actually found the shirt I have in the picture, but it's an inch too small. So I keep on...

My latest project: As crazy as this sounds, I'm looking for plain, thin, white, no logo, non-stretchy, as close to paper as possible polo shirts. I've looked almost everywhere for the past 2 months. Now, design your own work or make something similar to the older print shirts on your photoshop. Take a trip to the screenprinter's office. Hey, they can't turn out any worse than the poor quality they made them to begin with!

Finally got all the Collection from the Challenge Court 1990 in digital photo fun (I won't put all the pics, only the links b/c their sizes combined would be a nightmare to load):

Nothing is for sale or collection purposes. Just for fun to wear on the court. However, I'd be glad to buy them off anyone.

Do you collect the old Nike shoes such as challenge courts?

not really. the shoes don't mean as much, nor are they as stylish. Besides, most are a 3/4 cut, and they're not comfortable to me.

I have an all white tennis polo (black trim around neck) with original Challenge Court sewn on label below back collar. Label reads "Challenge Court" with orange pink large C with tennis ball insert. Remember that logo? McEnroe wore this I would guess in spring of 89. It's in nice shape with only the smallest of holes (virtually imperceptible) at back very bottom. I also have white Challenge court warm-up top from the next spring. It has the aqua/orange graphics on the back of jacket with zipper pockets and the Challenge Court logo that was next up (as in your posted pictures). It's in great shape too but needs washed. They are yours if you're interested. Let me know.
