Any hints, suggestions, etc. on preventing toe blisters? This is my first year of league play and I had a grueling match last night; lost, but that's a whole other story. I got two pretty bad blisters on each foot.

I was wearing some basic New Balance cotton socks and wearing Adidas Tirand tennis shoes. The shoes had always felt a little uncomfortable, but up until last night, they hadn't done any damage or harm. For the past month or so, I've contemplated getting a different shoe.

Are there socks that are more tennis feet friendly or shoes to avoid?

    Thanks.

I got some nasty blisters on my big toes as well. Maybe trying taping them or using bandages as a preventative measure.

Just tape them with athletic tape. Roll the tape around the big toe about 3 times, but not too tight or else you will lose blood circulation there.

Also if you have sensitive skin, you might want to put some cotton or sponge between your big toe and your second toe, because the tape you put around the big toe will rub against the second toe and may cause a blister there. There is a tube made of sponge-like material sold on the market to cover up toes. It's inexpensive and you can use it for that purpose (although I didn't find it useful for the blister on the bottom of the big toe).

If you want a much more expensive option, there is a product called second skin or something that you can put on to prevent blisters.
