Came back to tennis recently and bought some adidas tennis shoes. I knew they were not top of the line and figured since I am just getting back into the game they should do. Well, contrary to my memory, I am a toe dragger and my right shoe is ready to pop a hole in the front sole.

I don't have a lot of money for shoes, but what shoe(s) do you all recommend that have a good resistance to toe dragging, especially any that are mid-range (around $50.00)?

I use duck tape to cover the holes. No, really! I do use duck tape...

You might try a Nike shoe with the GDR outsole. I think TW has some of them on sale in the price range you're looking for.

adidas barricades with durability warranty have excellent durability. I don't know which model of adidas you purchased, but try the barricades. Also, even though the initial price is high, if you get the warranty pair, the net cost drops close to $50.

Just in case you drag your toe on serves, I used to spend a lot of money on shoes when I had pinpoint stance on serves (just from dragging the hind foot to the front), but ever since I switched to platform stance, I don't drag the toe anymore, so both shoes wear at the same rate and they last much longer.

Use shoe glue and tape for repairs. The best heavy duty shoe for the price is
    Barricade 6 ($85 w/ 6 month), Babolat Popluse($70 w/ 6 mon.), and Barricade Team ($50). The 10% coupon helps too(google is your friend).
