i found it quiet painful watching novak play him
felt like novak was dieing , he could hit any of his normal shots
prob the heat is affecting him

looks like bernard took advantage of it

Novak was S&V for most of the match from what I saw, so I think it's safe to say he wasn't putting too much effort into doing his best.

Just an exhibition wasn't it? Played in a light-hearted manner apparently? None too serious. Still, Tomic can add a notch...! (sort of)

You see, and people say Djokovic is one of the favorites to win. Sure, it's an exobition but a few days until the AO and he's lost his last two matches.

As if Djokovic would go full out 2 days prior to the AO. Just a casual hit for him. John Tomic on the other hand would have told Bernard to play flat out

I don't think its a disgrace, his behaviour towards Tennis Australia has been atrocious, why should they give him a wildcard when he has threatened to stop playing for the country and slammed Tennis Australia because they made his match a night match? He needs to appreciate what he has, Tennis Australia didn't have to give him an opportunity in the AO, and they did, and he goes and complains about being given a night session? IMO, they did the right thing in not giving him a WC to the Burnie Challenger, let him do it the hard way if he doesn't want to appreciate what he's been given.

    Good post.
Besides we all saw where too many WCs can lead-in the case of DY.So maybe they're doing him a favour.

true...but remember, the one behaving atrociously was his DAD. Yeah, he was pretty whiny about playing late at night, but we have no idea how Bernard factors into the whole affair and the Hewitt controversy. If this continues to be a problem, Tomic is going to have to reign in his dad (like Djoker with his parents) or he'll end up being the victim of a tragedy, like Jelena Dokic. However, Tennis Australia might not want to intentionally p1$$ off Tomic, who despite his strange style of play, is an excellent prospect...because Bernard does seem to be pretty impatient, and might go along with his kooky dad and attempt to leave Australia. I don't think TA wants to rid themselves of a potential future top 20 player.

I watched it on tv and it was painful...

You could clearly see that Djokovic just couldn't be bothered with trying...

Interestingly, Courier actually made a reference to this match during the AO in his commentary for one of Tomic's matches...he said something along the lines of now he understands why Djokovic wasn't trying in the exo...coz it's mentally taxing to win a match against Tomic coz of Tomic's playing style...and that would be the last thing he wants to do being in a mentally draining battle 2 days before the AO...
