He needs to get back with his hair stylist and trim his mane.

Yeah hair needs a trimming. He's been back with Nike since Halle.

Gotta love Tommy with the swoosh.

Wow, way to be a jerk. You're just mad he's a better player than you, and your namesake.

At this stage of his career, wearing Nike may only mean that his prior sponsor dropped him and he refuses to wear their clothes if he's not getting paid for it. Can't see much reason for Nike to sign a guy who's likely in his last year and could typically miss a good part of it anyway given his physical problems.

I'm inclined to agree with Ollinger, Tommy is buying his own clothes these days.

Or maybe Nike are giving him free clothes since they had a prior relationship?

That would be nice of them, but I have my doubts.

I preferred it when he wore his own label, Haasi.
Or when Pete wore the little US flag.
Or Marcos Baghdatis with the small map of Cyprus.
Or Guga with the big G (though Diadora was always cool).

Marion Bartoli is covered head to toe in the latest Nike stuff and she isn't sponsored she buys her gear, she said so herself.

Do a search in this subsection of the forum for Haas. You'll see that in the past few years he has had and lost contracts because he kept going back to Nike shoes (KSwiss and Ascics). He is very very very picky about his stuff. I can see him paying to wear Nike once all of his other contracts fell through. He might not have any other choice, there are plenty of unsponsored players on tour who buy their own clothes and shoes, and when they do that they pick their personal favorite. I know I saw a few years back that ATP players get a discount at TW, but I can't find that blurb on the ATP website right now (it might have been in playerzone which I don't have access to anymore).

I would hope that Nike is giving Tommy some clothes, he has been loyal to them despite being dropped a few years ago, but I really doubt they are giving him any cash or anything that could really be called 'sponsorship'.
