Tony Bennett (on Roger Federer), ”I consider him the Leonardo da Vinci of Tennis."

That's what the 85 years old/ 15 Grammys winner told Pam Shriver during ESPN's coverage of Roger's match today at the US Open. it was a very nice interview, if anyone find/gets their hand on the full interview in a video please share it with us. Good day people.

He also said that he plays three days a week and spoke a lot of the health benefits of tennis. USTA should make an ad from some of his quotes...

    Enjoy the Open, folks.
    Ciao

He has won one less Grammy than Federer has slams. Fed > Tony.

Also during the interview, a mishit by Giraldo took out chair umpire'e microphone.

It was like the ball wanted the mike to be with someone else.

I'm just glad he didn't dye his hair, shave his head and still dressed like Tony Bennet.

Well, seems like he was not honored enough to show up for Nadal's match with a free ticket.

    And all Djokotards are illiterate!

Last time I heard "peeing in pants" means "afraid/shocked/badly surprised".

LOL! Kinda reminds me of some of the Lavertards in the former pro section. They get a hard-on the moment some famous player/person praises Laver.

If Roger is Leonardo, than guess who is Rafael (the easiest one), Donatello and Michelangelo? :)
Seriously, nothing new in another star praising Federer.

Slightly off topic: But am I the only one that thinks Shriver looks only 5 years younger than Bennett?

Lave's left arm is bigger than a grown man's leg and Rosewall cut linesman in half with his laser slice once you know...

If Bennett said something complimentary about Laver or said Fed won his slams in a weak era historians would be tripping over each other to kiss his ***.

Really was a epic interview, not just on Fed but about the game of tennis in general. Anyone have this interview?

Agree totally. Could not believe how long that interview went. God Bless Tony Bennett, but was concerned he might fall asleep in the middle of the needless chat.

ESPN has rocks in the brain for assigning Shriver to do interviews period! She is terrible! Why can't they find something else for her to do - as in Off The Air????

Yes. It was epic and amazing and amazing and epic. Neither of those words mean much anymore.

I'm just trying to use them both a lot, so they go away for a generation then return to their original meanings.
