Anyone who has Renshaw there, well I suspect this may be Chopin.

In the last twenty years, I'll say Sampras, Becker and Federer.

I agree but if we go back even further, say 30 years, I have to knock out Becker and replace him with Borg. He didn't have the tradition grass court game but you can't argue with the fact that he won 5 big W's in a row

    3 is very few...

so, have to go w/this triumvirate...but, from Open era onwards would also like to include:

    Mac
    Laver
    Edberg (over Becker)

with an honorary mention to Connors...as most forget that 4 of his GS titles were on grass....

In my memory- Borg, Sampras, Federer. But Sampras rules. Serve and volley was king.

For almost a decade the Wimbledon title went through Becker, although Edberg won some finals against him, I firmly believe Becker was the more influential grass court player.

In the last 50 years I would have to say if forced to pick 3 it would for me be in some order Laver, Sampras and Federer (Arranged chronologically...no underhand motives in my order lol). Narrowing it to three though is incredibly unfair to me because then you look over players like Borg, Mac, Becker and even players who may not have been mega hitters on grass but still had there days in Edberg & Ivanisevic (at Wimbledon at least he was a great player for a while) for example. and there are others who at there best were pretty good on grass to that can be easily overlooked in comparison to someone like Federer. Going back even further names like Renshaw and others come up, but as been stated oh so many times...comparing those guys to the guys of later periods and today would be like trying to make a banana equal to a tomato or something, near impossible to do.
