Topspin forehand

    Hey everyone i know theres a lot of forehand threads already but i think this one is a pretty good video showing how to follow through across the body which i like more than over the shoulder. This person in the video uses a Mid eastern and Semi western grip, but i prefer either a Semi or western on topspin forehands.

    Good video. What was displayed but not explained unless I missed it, is to keep the wrist relaxed, thus creating more power as it snaps through he ball.

    Yes, nice view at 48secs whereby frame by frame shows his hand working from right to left as he moves into the contact. Cool how you can see this so clear from directly behind like in this vid.

    This video is super popular here. It's a great video.

    He does use a strong E grip. If you're using a Western grip or a strong SW grip the arm structure is a bit different and the ratio of upper arm rotation to forearm pronation at contact is a bit higher (i.e. more upper arm rotation at contact).

    He's also using a hammer type grip. I find that I can produce more top spin and less wrist pain when I use a SW pistol grip.
