Who can tell me how I can fix my torsional stability problem:

Since I bought the PDGT I've always played with a strip of Babalats protective head tape, until a couple of months ago when I had to restring it sooner than expected and didn't have any lying around.
Since playing without the tape, the stability of the racquet on off-centre hits is (or at least seems to be) much better. When I was playing with the tape, I quite often suffered from the racquet twitching in my hand when I hit an off-centre shot; the racquet would just 'collapse'. Resulting in blisters on primarily my thumb.
Now without the tape, I can't remember having ever experienced the same thing.

I do however like my 'clean' shots better with the tape (slightly extra weight) on, plus it protects my racquet against the gravel.

The tape runs from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock, so it is comparable to a tiny bit of lead tape at 10 and 2 (10:30 and 1:30 :p), which I thought w/couldn't make such a difference?

    Thoughts and solutions? :)

My stability problems dissapeared when i started to use a leather grip(heavier) and leadtape in the throat(14 grams) which worked great.
