Recently got back into tennis after a looong hiatus. My first experience with poly was with Luxilon M2 Pro 16L, on my old Yonex RQ1500. Very positive experience, good control and spin.

After a few months, switched sticks to a Vcore 89T, strung with Tour Bite 17 (55 main/53 cross). Wow! A big step up in power and spin. I attributed much of this at the time to the heavier racquet and the shaped poly. Anyway, I played the heck out of the new pair of racquets...after 2 months, my shots were starting to feel strange- either falling too short or too long. I assume that's the feeling of dead poly.

So I restrung with Lux Alu Power 16L, lowering tension to 52/50. Just took it out for a light hit, it felt very different from TB 17! Hard to describe, but it felt a bit boardy. Much less pop than the Tour Bite. Perhaps I need to let it break in.

Are these strings that much different in feel? My initial reaction was that I wanted to go back to TB. Or perhaps even try the new TB 19.

I much prefer Tour Bite, I find Luxilon a bit stiff.

That said, I am in love with Volkl Cyclone at the moment. (it's a shaped Poly that is relatively soft and punchy)

Alu Power is superior in every way over tour bite - it is not even a fair comparison. Tour Bite feels cheap and wirey with a poor nasty feel while Alu delivers tremendous spin and a super crisp feel that you want from a high end poly. There is no comparison unless price is an issue.

For me M2 Pro is still the best string I've tried.

Tour Bite has as much pop as Lux IMO. I have played with both and love both but for the pricing I choose Tour Bite. Lux has this great deep pocket ball feeling to it where it doesn't matter how hard I swing, the ball still stays in. Tour Bite I would say misses that feature. Great spin and feeling though. ALU is geared towards fast big swings IMO. It works well with those characteristic in swing with full bed. Hope this helps. Tour Bite is great though!
