I've noticed after several re-stringings of my current racquet that I seem to hit best with it when the string is at it's tightest(when it is fresh... so I know that may be in part due to the "new string" feel.)

However, in the past I've used a hybrid with poly mains at 61 lbs, and enjoyed that, so I'm aware of what higher tensions feel like.

Is increasing by 3 lbs is a good starting point to see how I like higher tensions?

Also input from anyone with 4g at higher tensions is welcome.

Sounds like a good place to start to me. Do you string your own rackets? What type of stringer are your rackets strung with?

I concur with Jster. At 5 lbs. I notice more of a change in tensions. Recently strung one of my racquets 2 lbs. under and had a hard time noticing much difference. Of course, everyone has different thresholds.

I feel a difference at + or - 2 lbs. But, I think 3 lbs would be a good approach. 5 lbs would probably be the most I would change in one step.

Always try to keep the increments at around 5% so 3lbs is good
