Tsitsipas to pinpoint

Looking at the highlights from Tsitsipas vs Bergz I noticed that Tsitsipas is now serving pinpoint instead of platform. Could this be due to his back injury?

kyrgios mentioned this many times. wish he'd get rid of the hitch in his delivery and toss a little more out to the right while he's at it. for a guy his size, stich/krajicek/goran deliveries would be good inspiration.

That looks like it is a conscious decision to serve pinpoint. He seems to be practicing with pinpoint. You can't just introduce pinpoint just because you have a back problem. I don't see how platform can cause back issues.

Is he serving better with pinpoint? Do we have any numbers?

Having said that, he seems like a natural pin point server.

Well good to know. To me it looks like his serve got slower using pinpoint

He was going a bit back and forth between pin-point and platform serving in the match today. Finished the match doing all platform serves at the end. I didn't catch the first sets so not sure what he was doing, but really weird to see someone use both techniques in the same match.

i like the switch, but like i mentioned above it would be great to get rid of that 'loaded' position and develop a more continuous racket move from the drop to delivery. not that the former can't work--roddick did ok, as does monfils--but i think it helps avoid shoulder issues among other things, like looking cool.

you see very few motions without hitches these days, maybe that's a function of learning with lighter rackets. noted stich's delivery earlier, his service motion was like like someone rolling out of bed on sunday afternoon but generated great pace and accuracy...a great reference for the importance of timing.

I like the switch, his platform made him bend backwards too much and sometimes tossing too much to his left and lose stability, i dont know if that was the cause for his back pain but It probably didnt help, what i dont like IS that he mixes both stances during the match, whatever works, but if you commit to a change i think you have to commit fully, i dont know if he sees it as a temporary thing
