How could he play with it? Is it possible the Kobra isn't a crummy racquet?

It might be the real thing, but I can't count the strings from any recent pics. The kBlade is 18x20 while the Kobra is 16x19. Do you have a closer pic?

i believe that its the real racquet. Its definitely bigger than the k93 and the k90 he used to hit with.

I dont get it. He said that the Kobra was a tentative racquet for the French to help his groundstroke depth, but now he's sticking with it? He better not become a Baseline basher.

It is the real thing, take a look at the pix from the FO. The frame is much thicker then the KB, the string pattern is different, and the throat has the aero shape rather then the traditional shape of the KB.
