I just want to know what Tsonga is doing with the Nadal racquet. Not a racquet that would fit his game well unless it was severely customized, which I'm sure it is....

The flare on the racquet doesn't seem continous to me at the cortex (the first pic)

But still, for me, I can't say nay or yay from these pics, other than in the first pic, it does look more legit than not.

IMO that looks like a PJ, but I would need to see some closer pics in order to have a definate confirmation...

Its a real cortex. Not sure if this racket is helping him play better ?? or hurting his game ? Racket is fairly powerful though you can take some power off the frame with customization. But i think he needs some time to really make this an extension of his arm.....:???:

ii also call pj on this. the throat does look like the aero design, so it can't be another frame. i think cortex is painted on and he could eb using the same frame as rafa. aero pro drive non cortex.

If you look at the gap where the cortex is and compare it to the photos FabFed posted, it sure looks like it matches the actual real cortex version of this racket.
The PJ that Nadal uses has a slightly larger gap between the painted on Cortex and the metallic color on the throat of the racket.

Just an observation from a guy. I could be wrong.

Looks like a regular APD with cortex to me. And why would someone who just switched to that frame (and actually requested a copy of that frame from Wilson) use a paintjob?

I could understand if he had his old frame pj'ed, but this?

It's generally cooler to assume it is a paintjob.
That said, I have it from a pretty good source that, underneath it all, Tsonga is playing with a St.Vincent.

    ChrisBackAtIt, who's autograph is that?

Just saw it said RAFA in big bold letters on the side. Guess I'm not the most observant person.

My point, Charles, is that the there is a variation from the PJ and the real cortex. The best way to show this was by posting the Rafa rackets that FabFed won...If Tsonga is not using a cortex racket do you think the PJ would be greatly different from Rafa's PJ?
I would think that even if they used two different rackets under a PJ, the actual PJ would be identical due to needing to match the current retail model. So, with that thinking, it seemed valid to point out a perceived difference.
The fact that they are using Rafa to lead the promotion for the racket does not effect what I'm contributing to this thread.

I don't think Tsonga's even holding a racquet, just a pretty picture of one.

    I agree with Rorsach.

ok....if you look in the second picture....the bottom half of the cortex has that line that protrudeds from the racket. it is not a paintjob.....

That was before he switched from his PJ K-Blade to his Kobra, apparently he used a Babolat and loved it, so he switched.

Nah, it's a fake. Tsonga probably got that from the auction site.

Or it could be a paintjob of his kobra. Lots of players change painjobs but not racquets so...
