Original. The most chunky and thick feeling racquet ever!
I actually sold it, but my friend still lets me hold onto it, since it's a great backup. So I got a free $70! =)

I am always intrigued by this racquet as it is the only racquet I see goated by soccer moms, high school jv, college and world #1s simultaneously. I think it must have some magic power. But every time I hit it I struggle to get good power and consistency...maybe I dont have the right grips or my mojo is off or maybe there is a customization secret?

I like the GT's more than the originals. I sold both originals when the new GT's were introduced in February 2010

The beauty of the frame is the stock specs and the potential for customization. Mine are currently at 340g (12.0 oz.) and 9 pts. HL.

That is a really nice spec bud, how do you arrive at that? Are you a full western fh 2hbh type guy? (I have more classical ******* strokes)

I swear, there's billions of APDC users in every corner! Kinda annoying for me though, it's like an army of yellow spin monsters!

Yeah, these are now sweet frames at 27". I've also gone back to full poly (Isospeed baseline Spin 17) from full gut (Global) with no arm issues. I think the trick to preventing arm issues with poly is to simply restring after 12-15 hours. In the past (3-4 years ago), I'd have poly in the frame for months since I rarely break strings.

The silicone is great for adding more semi-permanent tailweight to the frame for a bit more HL-ness. Although, it seems even more comfortable and solid it would be hard to definitely say that the silicone has removed any excess vibration from the frame.

Amazing buy man. It probably looks even better in person than in pictures, right?

  22. I'm not an fan of the 2nd Generation APD with Cortex, the white and yellow is just a little too .. bland.
I, however, really like the APD GT, love the light blue streak and the yellow and black!
I wish the Pure Drive colour scheme was a little more upbeat.

    Bud, flash, all,

Yep... I've been an on/off user of the APD Original for around a year... have had issues finding the right mods/specs for me (currently at 2g @ 12 and 7g fishing weight in butt, and am about to add further 2g @ 12).. it's a fantastic frame IMO for b-liners after added oomph and spin... and of course Rafa hasn't done too badly wielding it :) ... BTW, also have a APD/C, which I've played with less.

What do you prefer about the GT over the Orig?

    Hey Ross!
I suggest you try out my blacked out Aero Storm. =DD
All joking aside, the GT is more solid and stable. But of course, you know the thick and pure feel of the APD Original. Both still identical in terms of performance aspects, which is no surprise.

I swear that there should be at least 300+ people choosing the APDC. I think it was the #1 Sold Racquet back in 08-09? And you see legions of them everywhere.

my primary is the original, my first backup is the GT, and my third backup (which i rarely use) is the cortex.

they all play similar enough that i can switch between them, but i really prefer the feel of the original the best.
