Ok all. As your self appointed fearless leader, I have started up our official TW Chapter. There are too many players on our little island who are not connected with each other.

I want to start this by creating a directory of players, so if you want to join in the network, please post your ability level (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced is fine) E-mail address, and location (area of county is fine) as well as preferred parks and clubs you belong to so we can all contact each other.

I have also set up a Yahoo Group.

    http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/lihitters/

Is the address for the group, please go and join it, I will approve immediately, just mention you are from TW or LI.

With the group we will be able to talk to each other all at the same time, and be able to coordinate who is playing with whom and where.

Ideally every day we would pick out one or two locations and everyone would just show up and however many people made it, we would just split up and do drills, match play, hitting practice, whatever.

Obviously this would be a fair weather thing, and in the wintertime we can coordinate playing indoors (Dubs is great because cost is split 4 ways.).

I will invite many friends of mine who do not frequent the boards aswell, and encourage you all to do the same.

The goal is to have fun, and improve together.

    J

    Allright, Im goin to sleep.

Lookin forward to adding some new names to the list tomorrow.

And spread the word about the yahoo group to anyone you know who plays. That is gonna be huge for us coordinating. Way better than sending out 200 txt msgs.

I grew up as a child in Oakdale - #27 Ivy Hill Rd, right off of ' Sunrise Hwy - anyone near there. If so, I have a strange request...could you take some photos of my house and block. I'll repay you & you'll have a friend for life.

Kap, I added you to the Yahoo group, but if you could post a little blurb of info here so I could put you into the member registry that would be sweet.

Just look at how the info is set up on the first page.

Bluegrasser if you e-mail me your address I will burn you a CD with the RAW Nikon files on them. These are just the tiny Jpegs. That way you can edit them or do as you please, but you will have the RAW files with no compression.

Yea, Crazy weekend, sorry I didn't get back to you. Was gonna mail you a CD through US Mail, because I think the files are too large to e-mail. But I will see if I can send them one at a time.

    Hope you have broadband.

OK Kap, I confess I'm greedy _ I'd love some pics of the backyard( 27 Ivy hill rd) with the pool & fruit trees my Pop planted & a shot of the house next door ( 15 Ivy hill rd_ and the light brown one across and a little down the street - that's where my two best buds lived.

That was some serious frustration I had after playing. I was looking through my old stuff and I found the sheet dated 1998 where it said I was being bumped up to 5.5. Right now I'm not even a 5.0, and last night it just got the best of me. One reason I waited so long before playing again is that I was worried it would be more frustrating than fun, and that was definitely true last night. Sorry for ranting here.

Dude, seriously, lets get together and talk a bit, and hit. I went through a lot of the same stuff, blew out my shoulder at 17 and couldn't play for 6 years. Came back to playin at 23 hitting 50-60mph serves, frustrating as hell. Went for some mental coaching, and learned some really cool stuff, and met some great people along the way.

In the beginning I left practice sessions about in tears, but every week my good days were better, and my bad days weren't as bad.

I am still not content with where I am, and never will be as that is my personality. But I realize that it is the competition, and the journey.

We will help each other get better, all of us, that is why I started this group. And still meet some awesome people, and have time to knock down a few beers and play some drunken dubs just to remember that even though we take it very seriously, it is just a game.

J/K. Yea definately. If not on the weekend, maybe we can get some dubs happenin indoors, or we can grab a night at kings park and hit singles. I would like to see how your game translates on clay.

Dunno about the forecast for the week, I can hit tomorrow night early, or friday.

Oh yea, I am down right entertaining drunk on the court. Our drunken doubles included me.

    1. Hitting myself in the nether regions on a serve, and crumpling to the court.
    2. Bursting out into song, singing "I Feel Pretty"
    3. Reciting the entire "I am William Wallace" speach from Braveheart.
    4. Celebrating and endzone dancing after thinking I hit an ace only to watch in dismay as it came floating back off my opponents frame for a 2 mph double bounce winner.

The rest of the day was a bit hazy, but I am sure there was more.
