Just stumbled across this thread on a search...sometimes dumb luck is good enough, eh? Wanted to say hello to fellow middle Tennesseans with racquet obsessions/addictions.

Am in Nashvegas...Donelson area...middle TN native. 42 year old getting back to tennis in the last two years after about six years of not playing. No where near ready to keep up with you guys in those Harry Hopman style drills, but I'm working on it!<G>

Tomorrow is demo day for Bolt, so most likely we will just be hitting around. Come out! Look for me in the neon yellow shirt.

And the nBlade snags another TW'er????????

It looks like the hook may be in for the nBlade as Bolt scurried off the courts today with his new favorite frame in hand........ ;) I AM evil. CC

I don't know, Craig, Bolt was having a lot of fun with the Redondo MP. We will see, man.

Craig, I was having a blast with Bolt's daughter's 21in Wilson racket with 3 1/2 size grip. I was hitting more consistent with her racket than with my other frames. See below:

I wonder if she would be willing to do a trade with me.

Yeah the nBlade is right up there with the Redondo MP. I had them tied for first followed by the K90 then the Red Star. Both the Redondo and nBlade had such nice ball pocketing I was in love with that sweet sensation. The Redondo hit a much heavier ball for sure but the trade off was a heavier frame by about an ounce and 20 pts of swingweight.

Thanks for letting me hit all of your frames Dr. Evil. ;) It's funny the frames I thought I'd like I didn't and the one I wasn't even expecting you to have with you was the one I left with. :p

And Samster, about that Venus-Serena frame you love so much ... would you consider a trade for one of your Redondos? :)

Bet that pink and orange racquet, combined with that bright yellow shirt, got some attention on the courts!<G> That Becker V1 is an interesting hit...seems really safe and stable, but that wide beam gave me some problems. nBlade is a great stick, just feels right.

Samster, did you buy one of those $500 gold-leaf frames?

Bolt, did you think the Red Star was as strong with the slice as TW testers did?

Just got one of the Agassi LE Radicals and played with it for the first time last night...real solid stick and suprising amount of power.

Just saw the RQis is available at another online retailer...Cup-Stack Carbon Nanotube - think that wins the award for strangest sounding technology for the year. Played a long time with the RDX 500 MP, and have been debating picking one up myself.

The Beast V1 had lots of pop; it was a real nice hit.

I'd definitely agree with the TW comments on the Red Star's slice ability. It would be better at 27". Also, the stiffness doesn't feel as high as TW rated it.

Just strung up a used Precision Response Titanium I bought for $60 for next week's play. May be it will help my volley a little.

Well, I just came back from hitting with the Precison Response Titanium...it was awsome. It played better than most of the rackets I have. It swings lighter than the Redondo, hits a nasty slice like the Redondo, but I was able to hit a better forehand with the PRTi than the Redondo MP.

The running cross-court forehand I used to hit as a teenager...it is back. One of the best volleying rackets I ever used. Serve was okay but I expect improvement after few more outings. Unreal for $60.

Craig, I probably will be using this racket for a while. It is my new #1. I cannot believe all this time it was sitting in the corner collecting dust.

I bought it used and it came with pretty beat up prince syngut duraflex and I had been too lazy to string it up. I didn't play much tennis between 1997 and 2004 so I totally missed it when Prince was selling it.

EclipseRydr97 on here has some 4 1/2's for sale. His email is posted as eclipserydr@yahoo.com. His original posting says trade, but emailed him from work today and he said he would sell them outright. Did not give me a price.

Craig, I would say 110+ mph in my opinion. There was a guy I played in college served 115 mph routinely (he had it clocked at one point) and Bolt's first serve is up there for sure.

Have you had your serve speed clocked?

Had fun today hitting with Bolt, CC, and CC's friend Bill. I learned that I need to be in better shape to keep up with these guys. My strokes are there but it is about getting into good court position. I admit...I lead a fairly sedentary lifestyle.

CC had fun hitting with the Cayman TNT-90s. I did too even though I haven't touched those frames in 10 years. I was surprised that I was able to hit the ball back over the net with an 85 sq in frame (I have been using MP since 1997 on). I was also shocked how well I hit with it compared to some of the other rackets I have in my collection. I think one has to be fit to use a midsize frame.

Anyway, just my thought for today's outing. Am I turning this thread into my BLOG?

Yes indeed, a good time was had by all. You have very nice strokes Sam-Stah!!

BTW, those Cayman TNT 90's are SCHWEETT frames. ;) You gotta like 'em on the serve.

CC/Bolt/Samster...nice touch on the moment of silence for Mojo...tip my hat to you all for that. Pretty insane the sniping that goes on between some of the posters...somehow they've all forgotten that tennis is supposed to be a 'fun' addition to your life. I remind myself of that just after every shanked volley or overhead<G>
Speaking of fun, hit for an hour last night with a leaded up Pure Storm and smiled the whole time - and that's just after I bought a Radical hat to go with my Microgel. Glad racquet addictions are legal and 'divorces' don't require legal fees.

    Hi Brian,

You got to come out next weekend so we can check out your Radical outfit! Yes, it is sad that NBMJ has left the forum. I try not to take it too seriously when someone has a different opinion especially on this stuff where it is highly subjective.

I actually own a Pure Storm and I feel it probably can benefit with lead weighting. How much lead are you using?

    Hey Samster,
My Radical outfit consists of exactly one Microgel Rad Pro, the hat and a Radical combi bag. Pretty sure all three have different shades of orange<G>. Liking the Rad Pro but keep going back to the FXP Prestige...something about the dampening (maybe the Microgel??) is bothering me on the Pro. Put about 12 grams of lead on the Pure Storm (got it off the consignment racquet at the local place for $70 bucks for my brother-in-law but he decided he didn't want it). Put 8 grams above the grip and 4 grams spread at 3 and 9. It's a nice hit and will probably add another 4 grams at the 3 and 9. My arm is not a big fan of the Storm so far, but will keep experimenting with the lead.
