Mos def! I picked up a pair of Breathe Cage. Hopefully these will work out better than the Princes ...

How far is the opryland hotel from where you guys play?
That is Vanderbilt right? I want to try and sneak out of my medical conference and hit some balls with you. The first weekend of November.

I'd say give yourself 30 mins to get to the courts and then 15-20 (or whatever you typically like) to stretch and warm up to hit. I am going to be out of commission for a few weeks in early November, but am sure the other guys will be more than happy to oblige! ;) CC

What day and what time do you typically play. Saturday?
Are there any indoor courts if the weather is bad?

    thanks,

    Paul

We usually play Saturday morning around 8 AM or so. Yes, there are indoor courts available but will have reserve ahead of time. First weekend of November you said, right? Men's tennis not playing that weekend, I will have to wait for Women's schedule to come out.

Bolt, how are the Breathe Cages working out? Are you RAFA-MOS now?

You can save the Princes for mowing the grass, yardwork, etc. That's what I do to my older tennis shoes.

Well another beautiful day and another great morning of tennis has come and gone in Middle Tennessee. Bolt and Samster were hitting a bunch of frames, including the Estusa Power Beam Braided and Babolat Pure Control Standard.

I roped the 'Young'uns' into some more two on one drills this week and they hit great, including a 32 consecutive ball rally from Boltster, along with some great deep volleys from the Sam-Stah.

    Good goin' fellas!

Yet another fun-loaded Saturday morning with NBMJ...I mean Craig and Bolt. It was another big demo day for Bolt; I think he tried close to 10 rackets this morning and found liking to the Pure Control and the RDS 002 Tour.

I think too much demoing is messing up my strokes (timing), but what the heck, it was fun, right?

Man, it seems like almost everyone on this forum is on another planet and it's just me stuck in this hellhole in TX, suffering without any good hitting partners...

Thanks, man. Did you get your Cayman(s) yet? What string setup are you using?

I think it is time for me to change out the PSG I have in them.

I got one in the mail Monday. ;) I haven't had it 're' strung yet.

I beg of you, for all that is right in tennis, do NOT restring that Cayman. ;) At least allow me the pleasure of 'popping' it for you first? :) All I'll need is 20-30 mins of hitting groundies-I felt it about to break last time.....

    Best,

    CC

Bring your Cayman out on Saturday...I wonder if they play the same. The two I have came from the first batch Cayman ever made. It's a shame that they don't make these anymore.

I am surprised that PSG works so well for the Cayman, I wonder what it will play like when I put a little VS 17 Team? Ha HA HAA HAAA!

I just wonder if the rackets become "flexier" over time? Is that possible?

Kind of like wine...vintage Cayman 1996.

It is possible and they do. ;)

However 100% braided graphite is less likely to 'flex out' quickly.

Another fun morning for the Nashville/TN division. CC, Bolt, and Great Greta (Bolt's daughter, from now on will be referred to as "GG"), and I were present at 8 AM sharp Central Time. GG was unleashing monster forehands with her junior racket during warm-up with her old man while I warmed up with the oldest of the group, CC.

We then hit around for 1.5 hours with intense 2-on-1 and 1-on-2 drills. Boy, was I exhausted. Then I played a set with Bolt and I successfully avoided a blowout using all tools at my disposal: junkballs, dropshots, moonballs, and underhand serves. IT WAS SCHWEET.

    Until next week.

Alright, boys, I restrung my Prince with Klip Detonator (Excellerator Mains/K-Boom Crosses). I am ready for next week.

I am trying to decide what to put in my TNTs...debating straight gut vs. Fed's setup.

I can't recommend the 'Fed' set up, but only because the Luxilon goes dead so quickly...............I clearly had my TNT strung too tightly. Did you say yours was at 50#? That feels much better. :) CC

Craig, yes, mine were strung with prince synthetic gut at 50# on my Klippermate. For mid size rackets, I like it at the low range. Especially for the 85 sq in TNT-90, control is still excellent at that low tension. After playing with the TNT for two weeks, control with the TNT is like night and day compared with the Prince. Not that the Prince doesn't have any control but it definitely lacks the pinpoint control an 85 sq in frame has.

Anyway, thanks for coming out to play this morning!

I have decided that we need more members in the Nashville/TN Division. For the next month, I will waive the $1,000 membership fee to try to get more people to come out and work on their cardiovascular fitness by playing tennis.

So listen up, Nashville! Get yourselves up by 8 AM on Saturdays and get fit. Come show me what you got! Enough of saying "I am 5.5" or "I have a big serve" or "My inside-out forehand is better than Federer's" or "My DTL 2hbh puts Agassi's to shame," come out and show me your game.

    Alright, where is my Zyprexa?

After messing around with many frames this summer, I have got it narrowed down to 3 frames:

    Prince Precision Response Titanium

    PK Redondo MP

Cayman TNT-90 (against lower rated NTRP players)

I think overall I probably play best with the Prince though I enjoy the pinpoint control of the TNT-90. Too inconsistent to use the TNT-90 full time.
