    I've recently begun wearing orthotic insoles and New Balance has generally been recommended as having rather thick OEM insoles I can remove and replace with my orthotics. Does this hold true with the 996?

    Yes, the stock insoles are quite thick

    Thank You but they don't look durable in the least bit

    Look more like running shoes with a different outsole...

    Unfortunately, the stock insoles are NOT very thick and this shoe is a poor option for those with orthotic inserts.

    My search continues...

    The durability of the outsoles is really bad. They bald quickly compared to the outsole of a Barricade. Otherwise it's an excellent shoe but spending more than $70 on a pair doesn't seem to be worth it.
