Has TW done this before? Have a tourney for forum members? Could be a regional tourney, then national. Then someone will get the absolute bragging rights of being the best on the board until the next year. :)

Would be nice to meet other TW folks and also have friendly but competitive matches.

I think this site is international. Lots of travel expenses. Easier to play the games on paper. I have played a couple of people I have met through TW though.

Let's just do it on paper, can someone make out a draw sheet? Then let all of us decide by vote who would win each round.

Apparently someone tried that... Someone made a poll on who would win a match between me and Kana... Obviously that poll is straight forward and the next day it got taken down by moderator :)

Just list your name and USTA rating and I will make out a draw. If you don't have a rating, you will have to play the first round and won't be seeded. 3.0s will play first round. 3.5s and winners from 3.0 round will play second round, etc. So everyone should get a competitive match and we can all comment on why we think which player would win.

You are not listed in the official ratings, maybe because you are so high. We can put you in a special draw where you play by yourself against a wall. Let me know who wins. If you win I'll give you the #1 seed otherwise you will have to play the first round with the 3.0s.

That'll be good practice. I haven't played a wall in a while, as I knocked down all the local ones.

We need to find you an earthquake rated wall so you don't just win by an injury default. I don't think the walls around here would give you enough challenge either. Does anyone know of any steel or titanium plated walls in their area for this tournament? We could even fly the wall in if we had to.

    I'll play him. I have a 7.51 rating, so it'll be close.

I'm complaining to the chair umpire, as I think the racquet is loaded, and I'll lose no matter what I pick.

: bounces ball off foot, chases after it, trips, gets up, examines knees, return.
: back to line, tosses ball (bad toss), tosses ball (bad toss), tosses ball, SWING and ...

    "Out."

Can I do that, or are there linespeople or something? I'm much better in unofficiated matches, because I'm a really prodigious cheater.

Just because he is a 7.51 and you are only 7.5 doesn't mean you get two free points per game on his serve. Why are you guys playing the final already before the draw is complete? It's a pretty good match already though. I am looking forward to seeing a couple of tweener shots. It would be more fun if it were a mixed doubles tourney.

Maybe we could make a RPG out of tennis with dice rolls and all. You could create your character with different characteristics like speed, power, stamina, etc. and even design your own racquet too and maybe even tennis balls that flame.

I bet this person is not too happy when he knew it. I read the TW forum rules and understand that...
