Just what do you have to do to score a fail? Not win a point?
sorry, but I disagree ...absolute fail grade from me ...just like delpo at AO 2009 vs fed ...( and that was somewhat excusable given his inexperience at that time )
Are you adjusting for the injury?
Because I'm not sure how a 0, 1 & 2 beatdown from Novak who didn't even have to hit 2nd gear through the entire match qualifies for anything better than a massive failing grade.
As expected, we have to await the final itself before there is anyone to potentially give Novak a tough match. If he can dismiss Fed or Stan as easily as he has dismissed all his opponents so far, he really will well and truly deserve his 2nd US Open title!
what do you mean so far ?
bautista agut took him to 4 ..
lopez took him to 4 ( including a breaker in the 4th ) ..
this match he was exceptional, but he hasn't been this good in the previous matches
You're right my friend, it was Fed back in '09.When was the last time That A player had reached all 4 gs finales?
I believe it was federer in 2009 but im not sure
Man, I wish Tsonga had won that QF.
Tell me about the 2009 FO match...the one Federer won...What a beatdown. What was that an hour and a half? Then I saw Fed lost to Nadal in the 09 French finals one, three and 0.
Cilic bad. Supposed injury, but was just errors galore from him. Novak just had to stay consistent and redirect the ball across the court (one of the best at doing this as well) really...First of all, how the f*ck did a match like this get 1000 replies.
Second of all, can anybody fill me in? Was Novak GOATING 2.0. or was Cilic bad or both? Missed it due to drinking
so no Novak goating? Just Cilic being exceptionally poor? Gotta say I got scared when I saw that scorelineCilic bad. Supposed injury, but was just errors galore from him. Novak just had to stay consistent and redirect the ball across the court (one of the best at doing this as well) really...
Novak playing pretty well, but still has a level or even 2, above this performance. Some great play by Novak at ties, but usually just kept the ball in and Cilic did the rest.so no Novak goating? Just Cilic being exceptionally poor? Gotta say I got scared when I saw that scoreline
Starting to peak? What do you think the score would be, if he peaked?
Djokovic played solid (not spectacular). This is more due to Cilic committing hara kiri himself.
I thought he played very well. It didn't look spectacular because he didn't need to do anything spectacular. Just very very solid, barely any mistakes, great footwork and good solid groundstrokes. Federer would have his hands full, so we do have reason to be scared.so no Novak goating? Just Cilic being exceptionally poor? Gotta say I got scared when I saw that scoreline
So do I.He's pretty foolish to state those things after what just happened. Djokovic is the heavy favorite regardless of what happens between Wawrinka/Federer but I want Wawrinka or Federer to win the US Open.
So do I.

I didn't catch the whole match but BA was playing well above his ranking when I left at the end of the 2nd. Lopez I agree went down rather quietly.
BTW did you ever make it to Cincy or this USO? Hope you were able to catch most of the top guys (and gals).
I told you,,,,,now Cilic is making the Ankle injury as excuse now....... Cilic is saying he only lost because of Ankle injury...
Cilic improved, though, as the match went on. 0 1 2 each set.
Two quick SFs are good for the big final, but the ticket buyers must be quite sulky now. I think tennis won tonight, though, because the final will be set in perfect condition now that the two contenders should be fresh and well rested for the final. Let's hope both players will be able to play their best tennis.

so Cilic out of the top 10 i guess
Berdych 5 while Nishikori will be 6Yep, he'll sit at #14 for the time being.
Didn't watch the match. Was Cilic Injured or was Novak that good? Never seen such one-sided semi from Novak. That was brutal.
anyone??
Djoko's deep balls and precision forced Cilic to make a lot of UE. Nishikori gave Cilic plenty of time to set up, while Djoko's more powerful and precise groundstrokes often left Cilic flat footed and overhit. Cilic needs to learn how to defend against Djoko and how to counter attack Djoko powerful groundstrokes and put the ball in the court.Didn't watch the match. Was Cilic Injured or was Novak that good? Djokovic also clinches YE #1 with this win

I didn't see the match, but had a bet on Cilic at 95/1 to defend his title. If he was injured the result is fair enough...at least he didn't default as many do. If it was more about the match up/ pressure/ fatigue, then epic fail!
He has "GOATING potential" (whatever that even means..) because we all saw it with our very own eyes. He has that potential but clearly he can very rarely get himself there. Maybe he'll be another Wawrinka (but peaking a little earlier) and will start being consistently dangerous to the top 4 in a year or two. You can't think Cilic isn't all that, because he's already #14 in the world now and if that's not "all that" then I don't know what is. Nobody's saying he will be breaking any GS records or something of that magnitude.I'm one of the minority who think Cilic isn't 'all that'. The man wins one slam and then every other man thinks he has 'GOATING' potential.
