The Indoors is a monumental achievement and a team has to be one of the best in the nation to win it, but really, equal to NCAAs? I don't think it's there yet. The NCAA title is still the national title for the sport for that season. If not (if the NCAAs and indoors there were truly two equal championships), I don't think you'd see as much fretting about UVA not being able to get the monkey off their back. But, again, it IS a huge thing, and a great achievement.

sure, you're not going to find much of anyone else that considers them equal, but winning indoors is the second best thing any college tennis team can do in a given year

if the same team doesn't win both indoors and outdoors, the team that had the second best year is the one that wins indoors - i don't care if they had 19 other losses during the year and lost first round in their conference tourney (which, by definition, is only relevant to a fragment of the nation)

I actually did just see him last week at the dining hall.

He was not eating with teammates. I see the tennis players pal around together all around town, but I have never seen KU in any of the groups. I suspect he probably didn't make too many friends with his teammates, especially if he wasn't putting in the same amount of time they did.

I gotta call BS on that. Unless half of them were online courses taken on his own accord. There's no way a school would let anyone take that many courses outside of super special circumstances, much less an athlete who has a significant time commitment to make outside of school. I'm sure he was burnt out, but that's not a valid excuse here. School is over, so that burdens been lifted.

Don't go there Mike. You know as well as I do that dawgie dawg is a troll of the highest order and not reflective of UGA fans.

I'll be honest, I never really liked KU. It never looked like he cared, his attitude was iffy, and he made questionable calls a little too often for my taste. I realize his record was good, but he was never a point I counted on from match to match. The biggest loss, to me, is not his potential point at #1, but the fact that everyone will now have to move up a spot and play just a bit out of their league.

I think we'll get to the quarters...maybe. I didn't think we had a shot with him, so not much different there. Though a semi-final appearance would have been nice, as a little redemption for last year.

Yeah I know many don't think so and like you would think it's nonsense. But like I said I value both equally. That's my own view. What USC has done recently at the NCAAs is amazing. What UVA has done at the Indoors recently is equally amazing.

Excuse me what is your commitment to UGA tennis? Outside of the players and staff themselves there is not anyone who gives more to UGA tennis than me. I am not a fan of the coach-speak nonsense so I tell it like it is, sorry if that offends your jelly spine.

"Singh's exit times out with the end of spring semester classes at UGA, which he also tied to his decision.

"This semester has been full of challenges," Singh said, "not the least of which was taking 28 credit hours during our dual match season, and it has just taken its toll on me. I am just mentally exhausted and need a change in environment in order to feel 100 percent again."

Was he not able to cope up with the academics? What was his major?

Other than being a student there who regularly attends matches? I can't really commit more than that.

Your posts are inane, disputatious, hyperbolic, and often quite ignorant. We're all a little biased; you just spew non-sense.

What did Coach Diaz say when you asked him where is KU? Or did he just give you one of those looks that says, "Can't you read the papers? Are you that stupid?"

False. What part of "he is no longer on the roster" is so hard to understand?

Justin Shane won't play at #6 singles for Virginia either.

After that announcement, if he suddenly shows and plays, something fishy with UGA is going on.

Feddie either the TW Scoop award! If its true. Yea, I confirmed it with my source. But will believe it when he plays.

No. He took 28 hrs. Coach wanted him to practice more, he wanted to study more. They fought, KU went home after his last final. Now coach has him back on the team.

    We'll see at 9 tomorrow.

Figured it had to be to easy.

Memphis dubs line up is different for the 3rd match in a row. Hmmm

What about the team that has to prepare? They think UGA has one lineup, and then suddenly their supposedly gone No. 1 suddenly returns the day before? Talk about a psych game. That is not fair to Oklahoma. If Singh plays tomorrow, I'll definitely lose some respect for UGA. Whether it be within the rules or not.

    Singh has his priorities straight

Look at it this way, at lease he isn't playing doubles. he is only playing singles....lol. he wants to study,,,can't blame him for that. sounds like a smart young man. he knows where his priorities are.

You sure your source isn't mistaking Nunez for Singh?

    Not a chance in hell.

Even if he wanted to come back, I can almost guarantee Manny would tell him to screw off. You don't burn bridges like that and then just come back in like nothing happened.

I'm not gonna get into what he heard. But story has it Singh flew back from India and is there. I'm not saying my source saw him, just what he's heard while there with other players.

From my conversation it does not seem to be a big concern.

    yup, seconded

he doesn't want to play college tennis

    and

manny wouldn't let himself get publicly punked by this kid again - he already made clear that the team was better off without KU in those quotes from last week

zero legs to this bs that all got started because of lazy livestats

tomorrow will be awesome if weather doesn't make it a miserable waiting game / switching sites back and forth game - let us hope!

Talk Tennis really should set up a sticky archive of Nostradamus gems. There are so many of them, scattered over so many threads, that it is hard to find them all.

A year ago, Manny Diaz said nice things about Singh in a YouTube video. So what? What does that have to do with whether Diaz would let him fly in to Illinois and play right now?

he beat world #681 6-3 6-2 in the first round in a Thailand future. I wonder if there is a better environment there than the NCAAs. I somehow doubt it.
