After playing with a friends prestige after breaking strings in both racquets i remember all the prestige goodness :)

my friend asked that since i was playing so well with it why i bothered switching from the prestige . . . . . . I did not have an answer.

coincedently i have been paid today - i think a trip to *** is in order to try out the new YTPP !! liking the idea of a 16x19 in a prestige.

Ross K - you've been playing with them for a while can you compare the weight/balance/feel to the YTPMP ? I've always used a 18x20 pattern in my racquets where i can, but am seriously considering switching.

PT57's may be up for sale soon :p

^^^ I've been approached a few times recently with a view to changing racquets and despite the overtures of new, freshy and shiny bats from other brands I keep coming back to the prestige's!!!

    RHs and TBs of Blighty,

I am now so close to committing to a frame, I can almost taste it!... well, not literally of course because that would be rather weird and, er, metallic, but... yes... you get the picture... um, an update later to follow.

Some ball testing coming up! I spoke to Bob at SW, and he agreed to send me one tube each of Wilson US Open, Head ATP and Wilson Aussie Open at a decent price so I can decide which I prefer before ordering a case. He also persuaded me to try out a set of Bow Brand gut, which he prefers to Babolat.

Had my first hit with a Head PC600 the other day - WOW an amazing feeling!! If they were available for a decent price I would consider switching; it seemed to have the perfect specs ( I put on half a heat-sleeve, about 10g of lead, new caps and a leather+over grip)

My feeling is that this is an entirely new racket -- not an APDC, TF320 or YTPP. Am I right, and if not, what has got into you?

    UKRH & 10S BUMS,

I posted this earlier in my "Diary of a Racketaholic":

Think that just about says it all...

Well, apart from the fact I don't think I've quite captured just how great a frame the TGK 238.5 is... it reminds me of a cross between the C10 Pro and PT630... or a better PSTGT... it's just such an effortless, fully primed and loaded precision tool... packed with feel and solidness... balanced and weighted perfectly (btw, some lead @ 12 and strung full poly job low 50s)... a thumping, driving, oomphing groundstroke machine that is so accurate and precise, and responsive, if you've got the game, you just move your opponent around at will, before finishing them off.

To be concise, if not a little blunt, it p***** over all these other frames I've been checking out all year.:)

    CC,

Well, if not the YTPP, the TGK is pretty new to me.

    Aggro,

Never played the YTPMP, I'm afraid (I'm very much an open pattern man), but plenty other RHs have... (Chaps? Care to chip in here?)... I'll say this though, a), the PP doesn't hit a very spinny ball, or not for me. And b), both the pro-stock and retail YTPP have enough of a connection and likeness what with the mold, playing characteristics, feel etc, to the great Head frames that I and others here so revere (i. Prestige, Prestige mids, Rad Tours, PT630/280, etc) that you should feel that certain familiarity and recognition to these types of frames anyway. Furthermore, I'd argue the PP is generally easier to use and a tad more forgiving.

"Oh yes I have!"... TGK is main, and I'm going to try everything to get the retail as close as poss to the p/stock.

Hurrah for the circus that is racketaholics who think they have found the one. Denial lasts but for a short while. Good look my friend but there is a swell of new shiny rackets on the horizon.

Gonna try the silver 1.23 Toalson Cyber Blade Tour Thermaxe. The yellow 1.27 plays rather well.

EDIT EDIT EDIT.....Ive just heard down the grapevine that Head are bringing out the new Head PS (Pro Stock) Prestige line for later on this year, its blue and black......hmmmmn anything come to mind :)

Just strung some Toalson Rencon 1.25 for my hit today. Two words: coil memory. Probably the worst of any string I've ever strung with. Doesn't really matter how it plays now, that'll be my abiding memory of it.

Never said I'd "found the one." Simply, I was going to focus just on 1 frame as opposed to my customary testing and comparing.

barb wire was terrible for coil memory the worst by far, like proper wire but it plays great so it wont worry me to string. I suppose if you are doing loads like you Jay its gonna p**s you off.

Would you care to elaborate on this? 'Bringing out' a Pro Stock Prestige line as in making it available to the public?

^^ Ross has become monogamous with his racquet choice, and would never have his head turned by idle chatter.

No, it would require someone far stupider to take such a comment at face value...

I can't believe Bethanie copied my outfit. I'm outraged!

I don't need livescorehunter, because I'll be in Rotterdam.

    Great Tennis Outfit Disasters...

Still say AA is kind of the numero uno role model in this!

And Jamie, please don't try and take the credit here because from the recent vid you posted up, there was no discernible jewelry, you weren't sporting any type of headband (and the one in the pic is just perfection  ), and you had a short barnet and not this prize Kagagoogoo mullet!

I had to tone it down then because of a dress code. They don't like me dressing like a crazy transvestite.

    Hello boys and girls.
How's the tennis going? Suffering some shoulder pain, wrist pain, knee pain (due to see some physio/ortho doc) but still playing!
BTW, I've listed a raq for sale if anyone's interested. In the Classifieds....

Go have fun and don't worry at all about ratings, they only really count when you're playing all the time and once you're hitting with these people you'll see how close you are in stds. You wouldn't of been invited if they didn't think you were good enough and if ratings bother you that much,i've got an lta ratings card here somewhere that says i'm a 6.1, with my current on court time and std you'd kick me all over the place for an easy win!

    Ratings? pah!
    I'm stuck at 9.2!
No tourneys around to play to get it down.
LTA needs to get its act together like the USTA does.

Pfff don't worry yourself!!! I got invited and i was and still am a 9.2 :D ratings are a very broken system IMO. most guys there were around 3/4 but i beat most of them and they wree quite downbeaten because i was a '9.2' they cared more about loosing to a number than a player.

Good luck mate, its a great experience!

I've met so many people who before the warm up say "do you have a rating", i say no these days as it's so irrelevent, esp if you're over 15 years old.Agree with you aggro it's just not working as a system.

I don't have a rating myself but a while back I beat a 4.1 and then promptly lost to a 7.x (can't remember) playing this one weekend. This is by no means a unique experience apparently. It just seems totally irrelevant.

I think ratings are total BS unless you're a junior or senior playing lots. I was given a 7.2 and don't think I come close to most 6.x players I meet. OTOH, lots of 8.x players are capable of handing my ass to me.
