do you guys honestly think that getting sponsored will solve everything..? and most of you guys are talking about partial sponsorship not full sponsorship anyway. team head elite is full sponsorship and u have to be top 20 in the nation to get that. it's basically top 20 in the nation for every company if you want FULL sponsorship. give or take a little for the smaler companies (technifibre..)

Be able to get your serve in 50% of the time.

Be willing to carry their ugly racquet bags and defend how "nice" they look when people make fun of them.

Know how to properly pronounce "Volkl".

    :)

Talk to your coach about any deals he's got worked out with manufacturers and find out what (if anything) the school provides you with.

if he is playing in D3 he probably wont need a sponsorship, the school will get him pretty much everything.

Does anyone know if I would be able to get a sponsorship from Fischer if I live in Canada? I'm #15 in Ontario.

    "sponsorships"???

people, please realize that these are not "freebies"...I deal with this constantly...they give you great deals...not free stuff!!!

companies give free stuff to SOME pro's and those that are obviously headed that way.

just grow your game and things will happen as they should...those that seek those little things aren't focused on the right things.

please also realize that your status as a amatuer (playing in college) is put into a hazzardous situation everytime you look at it...few players ever play PRO TENNIS.

You might find a local pro shop that would give you an overgrip. That's about it with that kind of ranking.

I have a sponsorship buy it's ALOT harder in Florida because 60 in the section is like 10 in New England.

20% off kirschbaum, but if your top 150 in the nation, you get full. it says on their website top 200, so maybe you could make a little arrangement for yourself on that.

anyone know the pacific or weiss cannon email, or their sponsorship requirements?

I can tell you one thing for sure. If you are looking for a full sponsorship from the top companies (Wilson, Babolat, Prince, Adidas, Nike), if they haven't come to you first, you aren't going to get it. They will come to you if your results are there, and not until that time. For full sponsorships you better be at least in the top 40 nationally, and for Nike it better be top 5. I am an assistant coach of a top 10 national girl, and once she hit the the top 20, the calls from reps came pouring in. But until that time, there were only partial sponsorships available. If you are in the top 20 in the country, you can usually get a tennis scholarship (full ride) to a good tennis academy. Finally, if you want to get USTA sponsorships (travel money, entry fees, coaching, etc), you better be in the top 5 for 2 or three years.

this isn't necessarily true- many top-20 nationally ranked players in my section ask for the sponsorship and they get it, reps don't call every top 20 player in all the divisions
