That logo is horrible. The style is okay. Maybe they can get a graphic artist from elementary school to upgrade it.

    It's not 100% markup.
The seller needs to pay $49.50 plus tax. It might be close to $54.50.
The bay and PayPal fee might be close to $10.
The seller might take $25. After gas or transportation fee, it will be less than $20 and deals with packing and weird bay buyers haha.
Most importantly, no one will pay $90 for uniqlo clothes.
Seems like bay buyers might pay around $75 (in this case, not worth to sell it at bay-fees are higher than profit)

Uniqlo might need to have better marketing strategies now.
With Current limited stores, they might not be success especially in US.
Also they should lower price of shorts about $5 or even $10.

I will be in NYC end of this month and will see how good is the quality of uniqlo products.

    Your analysis is interesting...
10% to E Bay and PPal?? No way and especially if you're a long time seller
You are telling me that he/she pays $5 in gas per item. If so, there is a problem.
I believe the profit is higher than what you tried to show...

And, at this moment, I am pretty sure he's been selling them OK, especially if Novak takes the USO, he will have no problem for a while...

Crazy prices for Uniqlo. Brings hero worship to a whole new level. My Uniqlo Dry track top from one of there main stores was $10.

First of all I don't sell uniqlos at bay. Also did not try to defend bay seller.
Usually bay and paypal takes more than 10%.
The seller discounts apply to power sellers who pay about $50-100 per a month (it will be close to $2000= 20 uniqlos).
Regarding on the price of gas, I did not calculate per a item. I calculated that if someone lives near uniqlo store, someone need to pay about $5 of transportation fee.
Honestly, if someone sell $90, The seller will make about $25-35 But unlikely people is willing to pay $90.
If seller sells $75, seller only make $10 and that's less than what bay charge for Their fees.
It's not really worth unless the seller is selling professionally.
Also Dealing with weird buyers and returns etc, it's not fun.

Uniqlo might be able to sell more if they sell tennis lines from web-orders.
Current limited selling sources, they can't make profits from their tennis lines (Will pay more to ND) and I don't think ND will boost sales on their regular apparel lines since uniqlo brand is not highend.

BTW anyone knows what is the ND's exact contract?
I only heard that he had contract but have not seen how much money he will get from Uniqlo.

Good point haha. Uniqlos is not highend brand. Still cheaper than other companies though. If uniqlo does not pay ND, their price will be half the current prices. They signed ND and somebody pay for those haha.
If I decide to sign pros, my product prices will go up too ^_^.
    But It won't happen haha

This is not a random cotton 100% t-shirt though. Could you tell me which tennis brand sell a $10 performance outfit? Apparently many seem to be willing to pay more than $10.

I agree they better consider other ways to sell the tennis line but making profits from tennis line is not what they are aiming for at the moment. There is a reason why they call him 'Global Brand Ambassador' and I think things are going well so far. For example, lots of non-Asian people started to recognize their brand name for the first time just because Novak's wearing them. Most wouldn't/couldn't buy anything right away but again, it's not their biggest concern anyway, since this is a rather long-term project, IMO.

Here is a better answer for the matter.
Actually I think one of the reasons why they don't sell them on-line is that making people experience their off-line store is part of their strategies, even though it may not be the most profitable formula for the moment.

Thats crazy talk. The entire world is going online. They could instantly increase there sales exponentially if they went online. This isn't 1982, you don't need stores to conquer new territory you need a warehouse, goods, an internet connection and cardboard boxes. Why get a huge star, start a new clothing line, and then sell the product in three stores in North America. I hope they make changes to their distribution strategy after the us open. It's very frustrating for a Djoker fan not living in New York. First S.T. and now this:???::???:

It was pure speculation on my part. I reckon you can buy Nishikori's on-line? Not sure if international shipping is available though. Then they may well change their mind or even are already planning to open on-line store in the near future. Send them an e-mail. :p

I meant that $5-10 lower than current prices so shorts price should be between $45-40.
Actually, cotton shirts are not cheap though ^_^
production costs are very similar to poly blend.

Sorry, I was confused there.

I have no clue about exact numbers but in most cases, cotton shirts are a lot cheaper than performance outfits, aren't they? I guess there must be legitimate reasons then.

Somewhat true but there are on-line uniqlo web stores in other countries
and seems like uniqlo sells ND tennis line in only NYC stores.
    I don't understand why....
if uniqlo tennis items are not available for quite some times, people will turn away from their brand.

Anyone see the ND logo on djokovic's polo in tonights match? I dont want to say it, but it looked pretty cheap. It was like a square patch that they either sew on or heated it on.

I think maybe they want to see how djokovic's stuff will sell in ny first? get kinda a reference on how they should market this in other countries?
They're great quality, though I havent had the chance to play in them, they feel extremely comfortable. Ok, they're not as soft and elastic as fed's line, but they're still pretty darn good for uniqlo's first tennis line!
I actually kinda like the square patchy ness of the stuff, it does look kinda cheap and strange but something about it I really like!

Again, you are claiming something with absolutely no knowledge of it...
I have received next 50 listings for free and I sold about 120 items in 10 years total. So, no, you are not correct about the fees.

Paypal charges between 2.5 and 4% depending on your level and payment received.

Overall, far from 10+% you are claiming.

    Absolutely no knowledge????
I sold at bay probably over 2000 items.
    I will break down fees
If the seller sells item for $90,
Listing fee $0.50 or free for the auction style.
    Bay fee ( 10% upto $50, plus 8%:$40)=$8.20
    PayPal 2.9%+30cents =2.91
    Total fee is $11.11-$11.61.
    The seller will make $90-$54.50+$11.61=$23.89.
You claimed that bay sellers are marking up 100% but it's not.
Obviously, no one will pay $90 and seems like average selling prices are about $75. If any seller sells around that price, the seller might pay more fees to bay than their profits or splitting 50/50. Not really worth it unless someone sells in bulk.

it's impossible to judge from the picture but the fabric does not look good and ND logo is worst than I thought
I understand weeding heat transfer paper = higher production costs but
the ND logo should be weeded then apply to sleeve. not sure it was the intention of square theme for uniqlo though.
Will see how good is the uniqlo lines when I visit to NYC end of this month.

    I stopped at the highlighted.
I also gave this to my 10-year-old and she got a different (correct) number as a result.
    ;)

Anyway, thanks for putting time into this. Yes, I overexaggerated saying they are making a 100% profit (if that is the meaning of the "mark-up" for you).
However, rarely anyone will pay a $100 for the item listed int he store for 50.

Additionally, you can see some of Kei's UNIQLO stuff also listed on that site and they are cheaper, shipped from Japan.

They have no Tennis stuff in any of their stores. I also checked Shenzhen yesterday -- nope.
    Maybe they will next month?

I will be in Tokyo next month, so, I'll check over there, probably better chance to find it in Japan

So Djokovic has his own logo, too, now? I think this trend is fine as long as you're stamping your place in the history of the sport. It will get ridiculous if someone wins a couple Slams and creates a logo for him or herself.

i thought it looked pretty cheesy myself. his logo is crap (and i love simple design as much as the next guy) and the the sleeve patch looked cheap. i can't imagine it's on the stuff they sell in the stores, right?

Of course Novak hadn't made the switch yet. Nishikori isn't a big name.

I'm also interested in the non-tennis stuff. Want to see what else they offer for off the court around town wearing.

IMO the polo feels mediocre, good fit and look tho, love the longer sleeves! the short sleeves on nikes drive me crazy sometimes...
wristbands are alright as well, good absorbance, but not as soft as nike premiers, still very good wristbands for first tries on wristbands!
I absolutely love the track jacket. very comfortable, awesome fit, and looks good =)
