I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but I promise I did search....

How often do new APDs come out? Looks like the current model came out in November-December of 2012. Will there be a new model available this November-December?

    Thanks for any insight

No, Babolat doesn't update as frequently as other producers (Head and Wilson for example update racquets every 2 years lately).

Not before early 2016. In early 2015 the "new" Pure Drive line will be available.

Babolat has a three year cycle, so you've got eighteen months to go on this model.

2013 APD is perfect just the way it is. no update necessary. it's light enough to be a platform tweener stick ready for lead tape and poster putty weight customization

So you prefer the lighter swingweight of the '13 APD or are there other attributes that surpass the previous iterations?

IMO, the 2 attributes that make it better than previous versions:

    1. lighter SW makes allows for much more customization options.

    2. improved comfort vs prior versions.

I think there will be a PLAY version of the current APD before it will be replaced by a new frame. It's the next PLAY racquet in line!

Daniel, please ask the product development team to keep the swingweight low. i love the 2013 APD due to the fact that it's light enough for me add lead to customize. the swingweight of the original APD and APDC were closer to 330 making it tough to get down to the low 320 range.

I don't mind them between 315 and 324 and the APD is within that range, but the PD seems very variable in terms of swingweight.

I like to volley with the previous version much better than the new, though I do use a full bed of multi. The higher swing weight also gives it (older version) better plow through.

I hope to god this doesn't happen on the Tour version. They should have that one setup more polarized, like Rafa's frame.

If the Aero Pure Tour goes the way of the Pure Drive Tour/Roddick, a healthy swingweight of 327-330 should be nice.

Thats what I am hoping. Those older APDs with the 330 SW were way better in terms of playability. The new ones have better feel though.
