I have been reading through the various posts as I try to decide on which stringing machine to purchase. This will be my first stringer and I am still unsure about the eagnas machines but there is an opportunity to purchase a two year old supposedly little used flex 940 for $300 (local pickup). I have not seen the machine but I would save $99 off the purchase cost and I estimate another $75 on shipping (hawaii). Otherwise I was considering purchasing an SP hip hop which would cost approximately $450 (shipping included). My concerns on the flex 940 is the potential warping of the table plate and the flexing of the clamp arms. Are these valid concerns and how does the hip hop compare? I will be stringing only for my son and I for a total of 12-15 jobs per year but I would prefer a machine that my son who is 11 years old can also use and learn on. I thought fixed clamps would be better for this reason. Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated and while this is my first post I have enjoyed these forums for the last 2 years.:)
