wow, "an useful" sounds really weird
"an unusual" sounds normal, but "an useful" sounds awkward.

not trying to make fun of anybody, just pointing out what i thought was interesting

in a world without air resistance, a bullet shot out of a gun and a bullet dropped from the height of the gun will reach the ground at the same time.

In a world without air (resistance), topspin (or any kind of spin) is not going to work. You'll just have to hit flat.

I think you forgot to say "shot horizontally".
In both cases, the vertical velocity will be zero, and the acceleration due to gravity will be same. So they will both hit the ground at the same time.

However, if one bullet is fired at the earth at speed X, and another just dropped at speed Y (Y < X), don't expect the 2 to magically equalize and hit the ground together.

Hey man, how was your first Davis Cup weekend? Was it in your city or did you have to travel?

I'm assuming you saw all 5 matches.....did you watch the guys practice?

Is everything Borat says true about the Uzbeki people?;-)

***** SPOILER ALERT (not that anyone would care about India vs Uzbekistan :) ********
    Hi slice!
Yes, it was in my city. Entry was only thru passes, so I missed day 2, but caught day 3 on telly.
Quite a bore, frankly. The Uzbek guys were slipping on grass, they were just not used to it, and I am told they did not have shoes for grass (or even know that you needed a different kind of shoe for grass).

But I did learn new things: (Useless information for today)
    1. DC only for men
    2. Best of 5 (*** yawn ***)
    3. Coaches can talk to player during changeovers.

What did Borat (who?) say about the Uzbeki people ?

Istomin speaks English well, and has quite a sense of humor, can be sarcastic. He is a good fighter.
Was down 2 sets and 2-4 in the 3rd. Bopanna was to serve, and he usually aces a lot. But instead of making it 2-5, Bopanna double-faulted and then Istomin won the set !

They seemed a quiet decent lot (on TV at least).

Re: Borat Sagdiyev's opinions on the Uzbeks ... nothing really, just silly ''hate thy neighbor'' kind of stuff.

Re: Davis Cup Zonal Tie b/n IND and UZB, wow! You didn't tell us it went down to the last match! And that VJ Amritraj's kid got to play hero on Sunday. What a feeling that must have been for the son of a Davis Cupper.

Funny, your team is kind of familiar and very easy for us Americans to root for. Bhupathi played at Mississippi State (iirc), Prakash played for Dick Leach at SC, DevVarman is a Uva boy .... did the other guy, Bopanna play here at all?

Well congrats! Hope you had a great weekend.

Today I took my first all out spill on ice this winter. Pretty amazing that I haven't sooner considering how much ice is around at state college.

I am downloading this large file from stage6.com. Every time I step away from my comp, the download speed comes down to a crawl. I come back and it creeps back up to full throttle.
    I am downloading over wifi.
Never happened before. Is there a scientific explanation for this ?

    Edit: if so, please share.
I am wearing quite a lot of warm clothing, if that helps.

Chocolate contains tryptophan, which triggers the release of serotonin, and phenylethylamine. Serotonin and phenylethylamine are neurotransmitters released when one is falling in love.

Unfortunately, she will have to eat many, many, many boxes of chocolate to release significant quantities of these neurotransmitters and then...uhmmm...well...oh never mind. Now how do I prevent my girlfriend from reading my TTW posts until Valentine's Day is over...
